Crazydance Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) A some people have read i'm cutting my lego collection so that a small town remains, I have left a view structures on it, but a real town isn't complete when it isn't really filled up. First up is my overview: This is the complete city, i notice ther isn't really much room for a big city. So i kept the trains that i have in a box. As you can see the city isn't really filled up and alive. The fire house I love this set, its really versatile and with three verhicles, who needs multiple fire houses in your town. i also love the sliding doors, they really add to the structure. Hospital Every town should have one! it one of the older hospitals, but i think it looks great in combination with the fire house. Vacation house This is a smaller structure that i haven't seen very often. it's a vacation house and hase a boat, some movable house and a fun-car. The inside i pretty detailed with a kitchen and coffee machine. Circuit Actually i should make a stand-alone circuit of this maybe with a real racing mod so you could actually race the cars. But since it's wishful thinking only i have put it in the center of my town. Pizzaria I saw the last review of this nifty little set. hope they make more of these as they seem perfect to fit in a larger town as central buildings. I think the pizza delivery car is great too with the classic back door. Space port A true classic, a little too much for my style but since it's such a bad-megablocks building i'm keeping it for nostalgia reasons. Freight train One of the nicest trains of the 12V era. Although it's gonna be for sale once the PF trains are what i'm expecting them to be. it's on a 'shelf' now waiting for inclusion in my town. the rest I've got the 4559 passenger train which i absolutely love. but it's boxed up along with the 12V tracks from the freight train. Really a sad image seeing all the rails boxed up... rails should be on the floor, trains should be running! FREE THE TRAINS! Another sad sight is the following, seeing that i'm cutting down on lego pieces i've decided that i'm going to sell a lot of pieces on Bricklink. i'm going to take out the pieces and finish my town, and later i'll be selling the rest... a good thing is that all the funds from the old legoes will be put into new lego! and therefore a much better, living and attractive city. And that's my lego city. a quiet and humble place on earth. Edited August 25, 2008 by Crazydance Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Nice sets. Why you reducing your collection? Quote
Asuka Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 A very fine collection of Classic Town sets indeed, and I really like the original addition of that Space Port. Although, for a layout, it looks a little blank with all these road plates amassed in the center... Quote

Although, for a layout, it looks a little blank with all these road plates amassed in the center... jeah, i'm aiming for a london-liek look with fences, non-electric traffic lights, and more. i may even look into LED lighting for the town once it's complete in a non-electric matter. but i'm really waiting for the PF trains to make a insane train layout around my city. is it confirmed that you can use the plastic RC rails with the new system? AgentRick Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 A good start on your city CD, with a great collection. Too bad it has to go. If you want to, you could sell me the 12v trains . Quote

If you want to, you could sell me the 12v trains . it's actually going once i've seen the new PF trains, so who knows. although the track isn't 100% complete you can make a extended circle with the switch tracks. (and between the switches 4 straight pieces per track.) and it works great, just a few laps and the train runs smoothly... incredible how a 198x set can keep its cool.. but unfortunately it cant be used with the 9V, RC or PF sets, so i'm afraid it has to go... let's just say i have bigger plans for my city than just 12V i'll post a update on the trains in a few days.. Freddie Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 PF? what's that? Power Functions, as in the trains being updated with all the new connectors, cables, LEDs and such. They're also getting rid of the battery-base and replacing it with a rechargable lithium-polymer battery (4x10x4), and the engine will now recieve its commands through the already released IR-receiver. Other than that, it will pretty much remain the same (new magnets/buffers are apparently backwards-compatible) Quote
