NewRight Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 LEGO Landscaping has always been a large favorite of mine(I started a group on FlickR about it). I loved how the possiblilties were endless. Finally I have a semi-large landscape MOC. Also if the story lacks a little it is my first try with telling a good story through an MOC. Without further ado here it is. Enjoy! I was a rich man on a nice get away Mexican Cruise. The boat his massive rough whether and as the ship began to sink I was force onto a life raft and I have drifted to a mysterious island. My playboy life I am accustomed to is gone. Everyone I know is gone. I take my dingy out daily to hunt for fish. I sharpen my knife and set out. As I arrive I walk past a cobblestone pathway that give me the feeling that this island is or was once inhabited. I built a grave for any of those unlucky men or women that lost there lives. The flowers around it died on the other side of the cobblestone path flowers flourish in an abundance. If only I could get a picture of this island. It is quite beautiful, the only problem is having no one else to help me along or talk to myself. There were plenty of provisions in the raft and I am making use of them. I use the knife to hunt in the trees for edible snake, bugs, and other animals. It really feels like Man Vs. Wild. The waterfall is nice... My wooden hut or campsite is stable. I sleep on a mat made of loose vines and have plenty of logs to keep my small, but steady fire continuing. I have attempted to climb the waterfall just to see the other side. Currently I have had no attempts. I bathe regularly and go for a swim to pass the time. I may make it though, but my life will be hard... Special Thanks to Sir Nadroj for the Cobblestone technique and Nathan Well for the chili pepper idea. Visit My FlickR for More Visit My Website to Learn More Photos hosted on MOCPages. Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 23, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 23, 2008 Fantastic landscaping And I love the story and the way the pics are taken. One of the best MOC stories I've seen and read. Quote

NewRight Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 Awesome, this i s a great idea! Edit: I like this idea so much that i want do do something like it myself. I was hoping someone would say that. I added the "where would a dingy take you?" almost for that reason hoping that someone else would try. Thanks for all the feedback. NewRight Quote

Sandy Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I love the MOC, the island is quite beautiful (even though it doesn't give the impression of a wild overgrown jungle that we're used to seeing in the "castaway" stories). You sure know your techniques! I do hope your continuing this, because I disagree with some of the other comments here. The story you provided to us through the descriptions was uneventful and quite boring. I imagine solitary life stranded in an island would be like that, but there was no real sense of danger or excitement present within the MOC - yet. But then again, if the story was just something created around the MOC, it's totally alright. In that case, the use of bricks is the important thing, not the flavor text. Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 This is a fanastic landscaping moc. I am very impressed by the way you built it especially the facade of the waterfall. Truly one of the most enjoyable mocs I had ever seen. Thanks for sharing. Quote
