BillytheKid Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I'm a proud owner of this set: I needed to make the rails higher, otherwise my trains wouldn't fit underneath it. I looked at brickshelf and this is the result of the tracks: Only I had to modify the stations also. The station for the city I will explain and show pic's later. But I wanted to show you the result for the station airport. Only a little problem ....I have no room anymore for an airport. Front view: Side view, which I added traffic signs to it: And the back view: Quote
Dovchenko Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 "I'm a proud owner of this set:" You should be, you have no idea how many people would just love to take that off your hands... Great mod! The elevation looks really cool, as do you additions to the actual airport. Quote
AFOL SF Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I had the same problem while setting up my layout. I literally had to re-do that section when the shuttle and train tracks converge as there is a problem with height. Simplest solution I could think of at that time was to set up the shuttle tracks 'outside' of the train tracks. Not the best solution, I know, but for the moment it works for me. I can have both trains and monorail running at the same time. Having limitations with space, this may not work with your layout. So try experimenting until you get the satisfaction you are looking for. Good luck and happy building. Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Lucky man, i want a monorail*... *MARK MY WORDS, I WILL OWN ONE SOMEDAY! Quote

I was lucky, but no.......I don't want to pay gold for it to have it. When building a layout, it's hard to fit this monorail in. I'm still puzzling/thinking/looking how the .... I have to place this monorail in. When it's running, well it's great to look at it ......... Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Nice modding. Like your town pics, some funny ones. You seem mostly to be into trains! BTW is that orange monstrosity Spongebobs house? Where is your layout located, seems to have real pipework nearby! Quote

Manta Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Your town layout s amazing, I wish I had the room to make my Castle town that big.. Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Looks cool . Did I saw a purple tried copy of trainset 7725 ? And Your monorail is seperate form your traintrack. That it's easier to plan it in. I try to build a monorail cris/cros in my layout. You've to admit that's an another story. Quote

bullet8542 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Do you have anymore photo's of your layout? It looks might nice.... I did it just like this: and built a train&monorail station: Sorry for the delay.....I am drooling on my keyboard, That layout is sweet, I really like the 9v and 12v layouts intermingling. JopieK Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 A lot of children like the Monorail too. We had it once at LEGOWorld in Zwolle (I think it was back in 2005) and a lot of children asked if it was still available in the store (well we told them the average Ebay price ;)) I heard that LEGO had done research on a reissue but that they found out that the actual estimation was too low to make it worth to reissue the set.
