legotrainfan Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 (edited) We once had a thread about the new buffers. I wanted to write the following there, but I was unable to find that thread despite using the search function. Sorry for opening a new topic. I hope this is not old news for you: the new train buffers are now available on Pick a Brick. Has somebody bought them? If yes, could someone possibly tell us if the new buffers are as good as the old ones or better/worse? I'm just curious to know. For the time being I stick to the old buffers ...as long as they are still available on bricklink and eBay. Edited August 12, 2008 by legotrainfan Quote
simonwillems Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 ...the new train buffers are now available on Pick a Brick. Well, it is a sad day for AFOL's worldwide.... I would like to see those new things in action too, but I will wait for someone else to purchase them. In the mean time it's off to Bricklink! Quote
highlandcattle Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I'm not going to buy any because I got enough old once and I'm shure these will be included in the new PF train sets Quote
AgentRick Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Sorry to bring this back up, But it appears Brickshelf user Heinerberg has adquirred(sp?) some of the new buffers and performed a weight test of sorts. Quote
Forenth Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The old buffers move not only side to side but can pivot up and down. This is useful for trains which go up and down inclined track as they don't lever apart when track changes from flat to inclined. The new buffers don't appear to be able to pivot up and down and if so are they weaker when starting up inclines? This could affect the weight and length of the trains we can make. Does anyone know?
