Its SNOT Mine

On a frozen landscape, you can see the new dwarven mine. Outside we see a plucky angler, and a Dwarven shanty, inside we see a myriad of caves (well 3 ok). SNOT as far as the eye can see (well next stud anyway )

I would like to thank DNL i think, for his great MOC with all the goblins attacking a mine. I would also like to thank the weather forecasters, Johnson and Johnson, for a light covering of "powder" snow.

Sprinkle it on man, I think it looks good and would look even better with more. Just have fun cleaning it all off when you are done.

I really like the view from the front, as I can see into a darkened cave of Dwarves. Very cool photo.

BTW, you have got to be freezing if that's you hiding in that little puddle.

Good stuff, and snot what I expected (I believe we're all required by law to use that pun in this thread).

I especially like the cold weather angle, as it's something we simply never see in castle, the stark contract of grey rock and white ice/snow. The dusting of powder is an especially nice touch, and I bet it keeps the dwarves smelling fresh all day.

Great job on the pics, they really capture the feel, especially the cave.

Wow this is really great depiction of the dwarves in a climate that were snot () used to seeing them in. Fantastic job on the snow and the baby powder is perfect, easy to clean too.

As for the dip in the water, yes its bloody cold in Aust at the moment so that was part of the inspiration.

Studs Not On Top

I think he's referring to the base of the MOC which has been constructed by laying the bricks on their sides to expose the smooth surfaces of the bricks while avoiding the tiling effect (covering studs with plates).

As to the MOC itself.

It's a very nice MOC and a great combination of colours. I'm particularly impressed by the use of the mixed-colour LURPs (Little Ugly Rock Piece) at the base of the mountain. It really gives the MOC a nice feel as if snow has built up at the base of the cliff. And while I'm not a big fan of bley, I have to say that it works incredibly well with winter MOCs. the blue tones in bley really add to the 'cool' feel of this MOC.

ISC, this MOC is very impressive and orignal. In fact, I had never seen a snow mountain MOCs in medival age yet.

The mountain formation is really very impressive with its jagged edges around the sides. At the bottom of the mountain's foot, it reveal a miner's entrance? Or its actually reveal a Grand Hall for the Dwarves. The snow flooring illustrates a white snow smooth feel. With a little bit of "baby" powder, it brings out the entire MOC's feeling. Oh, I love that Forestman camping outside, shivering in the cold, fishing for some food. Well, it seemed he had hooked up something unfriendly.

The Lurps were an interesting integration but i think they fit well at the base of the cliff to as you say, show the ice build up.
