Auroralampinen Posted May 27 Author Posted May 27 Well, i still haven't found a perfect track solution. So search goes on:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 27 Author Posted May 27 Well, after a lot of rigorous testing. I might have found the perfect bogie design. Now the bogie design is inspired by 42055, and it seems to work perfectly. I will now go to my evening routines(like a almost 20km cycling trip). And then i will test this with tracks, this is soo promising:). Quote

Auroralampinen Posted May 28 Author Posted May 28 Allright, the 42055 inspired tracks were a complete success. And now the model is done, and the model can now handle with ease the 1kg load:). Now i will make free building instructions for this, and then this job is done, happy days:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 28 Author Posted May 28 So, here are final model functions:). Multidirectional gearbox wich controls 4 functions, Functions, Left track, Right track, Superstructure rotation, And dumping function:). Other specs Inline 4 engine with cooling fan imitation, opening doors and frunk, detailed cabin with 2 steering wheels(other for steering and other for superstructure rotation), pedals, fire exstinguisher, 2 spare tracks, with 8 in total track pieces:). Auroralampinen Posted May 28 Author Posted May 28 (edited) And i have to say. The superstructure was really difficult to engineer. Because the superstructure has to be perfectly balanced. And the superstructure has to be really strong to carry the battery box plus other heavy things, and i didn't want this model turn out like the 10300, because what i have heard, that model inner core bended overtime. And it had to be flipped to bend back. And because in this model the turntable is far away from cab and battery box, the structure had to be heavily reinforced. Because i don't want the cab to be bending down, and some my early developement photos. There is a signifigant lean when the superstructure has been rotated to sideways. But now with the undercarriage the superstructure won't anymore bend. So happy days:). Edited May 28 by Auroralampinen Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 Progress for the instructions:). Pieces so far 842:). Quote

Auroralampinen Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Progress for the instructions:). Pieces so far 1244pcs:). Quote
Paul B Technic Posted May 30 Posted May 30 You have done really well with this and I have enjoyed following your progress. Quote

2GodBDGlory Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Yeah, you're putting a lot of time into your projects, and I feel like we've been watching your building skills improve very quickly! Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 Well, i had a little marathon this morning. Because for some reason, i decided to build this 3d model in one sitting to 2000pcs. And now this has 1995pcs, and this tooked like almost 6hours:). 6 hours ago, 2GodBDGlory said: Yeah, you're putting a lot of time into your projects, and I feel like we've been watching your building skills improve very quickly! Auroralampinen Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 All right, now the cab is done. Now i just need to make front, and mudguards plus other details, and then this is done. Now this has 2106pcs, and i have strong feeling now, that this can beat the 42215 in parts count:). And, while my mocs are mostly black and white inside, i try my best to easy the build, like with this i have made different colored pieces, to help you to know what is front and rear:). Ps... I didn't realize this while building this 3d model, that my color codes mach with german flag. So sorry i was not meant to put inside a german flag as an easter egg;). Quote
NV Lego technic Posted May 31 Posted May 31 You can make the Finnish flag next time, maybe that would be more fitting:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 I might finish the instructions by tomorrow, now the 3d model is about 85% done, it tooked 4 days and nearly 10hours, straight sitting and work, to construct the 3d model, and the gen 2 instructions:). Quote

Auroralampinen Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 Happy days, now the 3d model is 95% done, and i worked with this, today about 15 hours and 23 minutes. And that was almost with one sitting. Now im really happy, now i will go to sleep, its soon midnight:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 All right, now the 3d model is done. Final piece count, 2623pcs:). And, i have upgraded the grill for the instructions version, now it uses metallic silver pieces:). Quote
