XG BC Posted Wednesday at 08:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:08 PM Since there are many field railway collectors out there, and there are even museums dedicated to this topic, i wanted to make one in lego, its completely fictional, but does bear some resemblance to the ones that exist irl. starting with an engine shed (not complete yet) more to come, it will probably be more of a compilation of past mocs put together in a way that makes some sort of sense, rather than a fully new thing. Feuer Zug Posted Thursday at 12:38 PM Posted Thursday at 12:38 PM Nice collection of shunters. The term shed is perfect for this group. I like the moving rail in the middle to get any one shunter to the mainline. Quote
XG BC Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM the shed now has a roof, and i have lenghtened the moving part so it actually fits the locomotives. i have also made my little diorama with the bucket chain excavator into a module: and i have made the brick factory into another module: these will all eventually connect together, the rail on the left will be for a train where visitors can ride through the different parts were these cute little railways were used. a Mining section with a tunnel is also planned. LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted Thursday at 08:40 PM Posted Thursday at 08:40 PM Wow what a fantastic parade of small diesel shunting locomotives! Moreover what a wonderful depot! Quote
XG BC Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM Author Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM thanks! look at the lego trains in 4 wide topic for each of the locomotives. @LEGO Train 12 Volts Quote
zephyr1934 Posted yesterday at 05:31 AM Posted yesterday at 05:31 AM You are going to have a large 4-wide layout here soon. Top notch work. And on a practical side, looking at your models they really illustrate how much more space efficient transfer tables are compared to switches or a ladder track of switches. Of course they also limit how many cars or locomotives that can change tracks at one time. Quote
XG BC Posted yesterday at 07:02 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:02 AM thanks! it will be a digital layout only, i currently dont really have the space for something this big. but yeah transfer tables are super space efficient, they pretty much replaced the turntables in train depots irl Quote
Feuer Zug Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Great collection of small scenes. The expanded transfer table works better. Quote
