Zzz Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hi there! After LEGO Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman, game developer Traveller's Tales is working on two new LEGO games. According to an interview on Variety with TT's Jon Burton they are based on brands belonging to Warners Bros., though he didn't speak about which. Great news I guess, even if the gameplay gets a tad repetitive in my opinion. So, Warner... what could that be? Harry Potter?? Long after TLC canceled the line? Quote
Zarkan Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) Awesome news! Well, I think it's safe to say that we'll probably be getting another Batman game, since that is one of Warner Brothers' biggest franchises. But what could the other be? Well, I think I may have an idea. I found out online that the new Starwars Clone Wars movie is being co-produced with Warner Brothers. It might be very possible that TLC will make another starwars game based on the movie and TV show, once they make a first season of the show. Edited August 8, 2008 by Grevious Quote
The Nightwing Reborn Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I thought the exact same thing as you Grevious. LSWIII here I come! Though Harry Potter would be good to, I would prefer star wars 3. Another Batman game would be awesome, but they should have use old save like in LSWII. )TNR( Quote
Batbrick Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Definitely Lego Agents, think about it. Characters - check, you have so many henchmen and four goodguys which can be expanded on. The vehicles are all there and the awesome villain locations too Batbrick Away! Quote

About Clone Wars - I really didn't know, thought it will be 20th Century like all the other movies.. it could be a chance, but coming way too late. But there were also rumors about a new licence Lego is going to make, legomilk told us the rumor about Jurassic Park - but that's Universal, right? So if TT doesn't speak about which brand exactly from Warner, there are rumors about a new licence from TLC coming next year... 1+1= ?? Quote

Lego Starwars III was already released - it's called LSW: The Complete Saga. Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 darn. i was hoping for LEGO agents and a new lego loco. Quote
Pencoin Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 LEGO starwars TCS isnt counted as 3 Also what about this LEGO Indy4 they were doing as well? The power has gone to their heads. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 LEGO starwars TCS isnt counted as 3 Also what about this LEGO Indy4 they were doing as well? The power has gone to their heads. Neither Indy nor SW is WB, I think. So, Id have to guess Batman 2 and..., I'm not sure what else. Quote
captaintau Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 From the title there, I thought you were talking about our TT: Double T. I thought I didn't know he was a game programmer! Quote
commanderbly42 Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Neither Indy nor SW is WB, I think. So, Id have to guess Batman 2 and..., I'm not sure what else. Ahh but the Clone Wars movie is WB as well as Lucasarts. So there is a chance of it being a LEGO CW game. Quote
hewkii9 Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 (edited) How about Lego Veronica Mars? It's Warner Bro's [uPN merged with the WB to form the CW, which is a joint between CBS and Warner Bro's]. Or, while we're at it, how about Lego Gossip Girl? There we go, that's two Warner Bro's properties that can be adapted into Lego video game form without inadvertently promoting the competition. yellost Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 How about Speed Racer? That'd be nice. And then they can go back to making a regular LEGO Racers. In the vein of the first one (which is still and remains my best PC racer game ever). Quote
Andrex Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Hmm this is interesting news indeed! I'm hoping they begin to take new routes with the Lego games. I was a massive fan of the Lego Star Wars titles, and Lego Indiana Jones was excellent, but things do seem to be getting.. repetitive. Lego Batman has several new ideas, but I'd like to see some original concepts now! Nonetheless, I admit that the one franchise I'd still like doing is Harry Potter. All seven books/films could make for a long and worthwhile compendium. Think of all the minifigures! The gameplay could work very differently, and it would likely be a huge success. Anyway, good to be back. I spent the last month in Africa away from all gaming news! I shall resume my role ASAP and pass on any information I happen to find! -- Andrex Quote
Shoc Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 I read this last week or something, but it sounds great anyway! Great news I guess, even if the gameplay gets a tad repetitive in my opinion. So, Warner... what could that be? Harry Potter?? Long after TLC canceled the line? The line was never confirmed cancelled, hopefully we'll get more sets again, then there could be a game. Nonetheless, I admit that the one franchise I'd still like doing is Harry Potter. All seven books/films could make for a long and worthwhile compendium. Think of all the minifigures! The gameplay could work very differently, and it would likely be a huge success. I agree, there are many possibilities fo using magic and things. Ages ago I actually thought a lot about a Lego Harry Potter game in the LSW style, it would be amazing. As for the other one, maybe a second Batman game? Or Clone Wars? I'd prefer another Batman game, and the first one isn't even out! :skull: Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 My guesses... 1.) LEGO Indiana Jones II. It would include KotCS. 2.) Another Batman game, or The Clone Wars? ~Air Spirit Quote
hewkii9 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Oh please not Lego Clone Wars. Lego Veronica Mars FTW! Quote
Pickerel Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 My guesses...1.) LEGO Indiana Jones II. It would include KotCS. 2.) Another Batman game, or The Clone Wars? ~Air Spirit I'm not so sure that Traveler's Tales would make Indiana Jones or The Clone Wars, both Star Wars games and the Indiana Jones game told the stories in three movies each and they were still fairly short. Having a LEGO game based off of one movie would be too short unless they increased the difficulty a lot or expanded the plot to make the game longer. I'm thinking one or two HP games or 1 HP game and a Batman game. We're not even sure if the designers know what games they're making, they could have a few games in mind but are waiting to see the popularity of LEGO Batman. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. NerdFighter Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 (edited) This is good news. LEGO Batman II seem like an obvious one of these games. Edited August 15, 2008 by NerdFighter Quote
Andrex Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't get why people keep saying Lego Batman 2, when the first one isn't even out yet o_o. I'm not big on Batman though, so I guess it's because they have limited villains to work with or something? -- Andrex Quote
hewkii9 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't think it's that, they've already covered all the big ones and are getting into the minor villains for the first Batman game. Can't imagine that they're going to be making Lego Batman 2 and promoting new villains like Zsasz and Blockbuster. Which is why we need Lego Veronica Mars, there's three whole seasons of untapped Kristen Bell-themed detective adventure possibilities! Quote
Adam Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Right. Agents belongs to Warner Bros. Here's what I think: It's Harry Potter. Simple. Quote
Pencoin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 People are talking about LEGO batman Im talking about LEGO DCU. No one could complain there. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Batman 2? I'd sure love to see it, but this game seems so... Awesome I can't imagine what they could add. A new LSW game about the Clone Wars... As I said somewhere before I doubt it because there ARE NOT ENOUGH CHARACTERS TO MAKE IT. You need to have at least 50 characters, I think. I'll throw out a list of main characters as well as staples of any Lego game that we know: Anakin Obi-wan Ahsoka Yoda Commander Cody Commander Rex Ventress Mace Windu(gosh, I can't wait to see HIM animated ) General Loathsom Greivous(I hope they don't animate him) Battle Droid Super Battle Droid Destroyer Droid Clone Trooper Commander Fox Jabba Rotta Ziro Dooku(animated? Why not just fleshify Sensei Keiken's head? ) Magnaguard Padme Plo Koon Commander Gree(possibly, probably) Clone Pilot That's 24 characters and the three Hutts probably won't be playable. It'd be a damn boring game, plus there'd only be, like, 6 missions. That's why I wouldn't mind some more EU sets so... OH. MY. GOODNESS. A Lego The Force Unleashed Video Game, maybe even combined with the Clone Wars? Now for a TFU character list :skull: : Galen Marek Kento Marek Juno Eclipse Kazdan Paratus Bail Organa Rahm Kota Evo Trooper Stormtrooper Jump Trooper Rebel Trooper Rebel Heavy Trooper Rebel Melee Trooper Tie Pilot Imperial Officer Darth Vader The Emperor PROXY Mercenary 1 Mercenary 2 Bounty Hunter 1 Bounty Hunter 2 Maris Brood Shaak Ti Jedi 1 Jedi 2 Jedi 3 Wookiee Garm Bel Iblis Leia Organa Mon Mothma Sith 1 Sith 2 Sith 3 Child Marek 34 characters, plus 24 Clone Wars characters equals 58 characters. And there could be more! And I could be insane and I know this probably won't happen, but Hey! That's speculation! Quote
Andrex Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Haha exactly, that's what I was thinking about a second Lego Batman game. I'm all for Harry Potter. I must play as Snape O_O. DUMBLEDORE! Ah so many. What I'd be unsure about though would be.. seven books/films. Would they need to release two separate titles to compensate, or would it just have to be a very long game?
