cozzie4d Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Hi all, I've finished adding all my light masts/poles to my track layout and wired everything up. Besides some flickering of the lights when pressing accessoire remotes, it's all working fine :) But, all those cables around the tracks look so messy. So I'm looking for ways to nicely let the cables follow the tracks. The only solution I came up with so far, is taking light a gray 3x2 plate and a 1x2 plate on one side of it, attaching the other side to the sleeper, and let the cable go underneath it. This kind of works, but I don't have 200 or so old gray 2x3s and 1x2s. Any ideas on how to do this differently while making it look pretty still? Quote
cozzie4d Posted Tuesday at 02:51 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 02:51 PM Any ideas? I also thought of connecting them all in parallel and run longer wires alongside the tracks, which I can then tie together (tie wraps or something). But not sure if I want to buy a whole lot or cable just for this purpose Quote
idlemarvel Posted Tuesday at 04:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:28 PM On page 6 of the 1980 12v train ideas book #7777 there are instructions for building simple railside cable tidies. A 2x2 round plate on top of a 2x2 round brick held in place with a 4L Technic axle. The wires are held between the plate and the brick. Search for "lego 7777 pdf" and look at page 6. The rest of the book is full of good ideas as well! Quote
Andy Glascott Posted Wednesday at 01:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:17 AM If your layout is on a dedicated surface, a wooden board for example, you could drill through the wood by the control panel, drop the wire down through the wood and bring it back up by the signal, switch or whatever it is going to.
