Inertia Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Here's a MOC I've had around for a while now, and just thought I'd post it... Sorry for the bad photography, I didn't have time to set up my light equipment. Basically the Orcs attack some Sylvan ruins, and we get a battle , here's just an overview... Battle scene, the Orc general from the Crusher reappears here... Playing around with the camera, different view of the main battle on top of the ruins.... Battle from the Elven side... So many... Orcs More views... two Elves fend off some Orc climbers... Elven figs... Forest elves Orcs... Troll... Thanks for viewing my MOC. C and C welcome! EDIT: All Credit for the decals goes to Anthony Sava, they are found here. Quote
Pickerel Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I hope TLC's elves will be as nice as yours ! Your elves really capture the feel of what I think elves should be. Using the pauldron on the the elf captain/leader/important person was a great idea. Umm... what exactly are the Sylvan ruins, or are they just ruins? This looks a little bit like a watchtower to me. That poor troll he's got such a large whacking stick but nobody to whack. Quote
SuvieD Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The custom stickers are looking really nice. Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Inertia, the custom elves are really very cool. The battle scene is very nicely taken. Just love these different angles. Keep it up. The troll's hammer sure look big, much bigger than Hinckley. Quote
Sandy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Lovely elves, once again, and I like the hammer on the big troll as well. The variety of minifigs is really great, they're not just carbon copies of each other. I just have to question why you're calling this MOC "Sylvan Ruins", since it's not obviously a ruin, but a sturdy and well inhabited tower. Also, the construction could've used a bit more detail into it, something like windows, arrow holes, arches etc. It looks a bit bare now. But keep going! Quote
BlueBard Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Nice job! Looks like somebody is anticipating the 2009 Lego castle sets Quote

That poor troll he's got such a large whacking stick but nobody to whack. Thanks! I decided the pauldron looked cool so I put it on the commander, the Troll's lonely. Well, actually, you probably can't see it for here but on the sides there's parts falling off and stuff, also the pillars are different heights, It could be a watch tower, maybe I'll just stick to that. The custom stickers are looking really nice. Thank you, they're not mine, Their Anthony Sava's Elves of the Sylvan Moon decals, found Here. I actually should mention that on the page. Inertia, the custom elves are really very cool. The battle scene is very nicely taken. Just love these different angles. Keep it up. The troll's hammer sure look big, much bigger than Hinckley. Thanks WhiteFang, the hammer was a spur of the moment thing, I don't particulary like the club, as it's too small and doesn't reach far... So I made the hammer I see the elves are a hit once again Lovely elves, once again, and I like the hammer on the big troll as well. The variety of minifigs is really great, they're not just carbon copies of each other.I just have to question why you're calling this MOC "Sylvan Ruins", since it's not obviously a ruin, but a sturdy and well inhabited tower. Also, the construction could've used a bit more detail into it, something like windows, arrow holes, arches etc. It looks a bit bare now. But keep going! As I said before, I should have statues around the outside, but I guess I should've taken the pictures of those... well, only the back is bare because I had to get my hands in, the other sides have some detail and, as for the inside, It has the weird little staircase.... Thanks for the comment on the elves, last time there were only three, so I decided to make a few more, with the Wood elves being a last addition... I ried to make my Orcs a bit horde-ish, as they all have mostly different weapons, helmets and some different body decals. Nice job! Looks like somebody is anticipating the 2009 Lego castle sets Thanks and Yep, I can't wait for the new castle sets, I've put off buying the Clone Wars sets to get all the '09 sets in one go. however, I did get the RGS, Elves are my favorite element of fantasy... And Dragons. Thanks for your comments! Quote
pedro Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 That's a great battle scene Inertia, the melee at the top of the ruins looks particularly fearsome! Your custom minifigs and your choice of weaponry really help convey the feel of the different armies. I especially love the bisento-style polearm you've given the Orc warrior in on the right, simple but effective. Good stuff! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Very busy scene there, the word Melee spfrings to mind! I like the hammer, so big. The custom elves are also very cool too! One thing is the tower doesnt really lokk to be in much ruin, unless its about to be ruined.... Great photography and keep up the good work! We want elves!! Quote

Thank you The pole arm is probably my favorite weapon for those Orc guys with the armor, it makes them look more threatening... Very busy scene there, the word Melee spfrings to mind! The elves are quite the hit About the ruins, like I said, it would probably be more clear if I'd taken more pictures of the outside... in fact, I do have one from when this MOC was still up.. that's the general overview without the minifigs. thanks again!
