I have had a question about a piece for a while. Being a fanatical purist I need to know if this piece is official or not. I've only seen it one other time but it seems to small to be a Scala bottle. Help me.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm still kind of a noob. Sorry for the bad picture too.

Edit: I deep-linked the picture.

Edit 2: Gah! I can't get the URL right the second time either.

I looked for it on Brick Link and it looked similar to the Scala bottle but there were no translucent red ones and I do not really know what the scale of Scala is.

I thought I deep-linked the picture...

Now that it´s public: :classic:

This is the bottle you are looking for.

If it was an original Lego piece would be #33011b

It was included in various Scala sets, indeed.

Colors: Blue, medium blue and light violett.

Or it is #6933c (on the lower right corner)

Colors: mid green and dark pink.

All information according to peeron.com

On your photo provided the bottle is trans-red and smaller. So I would assume it´s not original Lego. :look:

I believe it is a playmobile part - my Mum got a similar bottle (in greenish clear) in a Lego lot before and this was the final determination after some research. Lego minifigs can clutch it I believe but the hole at the bottom is larger than a Lego stud.

Look for a mould number on the part and search on BrickLink or Peeron. If there isn't a part of that number chances are it's fake. But I'd hold on to it just in case it turns out to be real.

I think it's Playmobil, if not it is some other company's, but definately not Lego. Playmobil accessories can come in handy for Lego minifig accessories, sometimes.

Yes it is. I have 6 from a old playmobil shop set.

Darn! Those sneaky Playmobil parts have been infiltrating my LEGO collection for a long time. The bottom will fit on a LEGO stud but I am a pretty hard core purist and it must be eradicated.

Thanks for all the feedback! The Eurobricks community is just so helpful. :sweet:

Edit: Can the minifigs hold Scala bottles? My townsfolk need to get their booze on.

1) about your original question: a lego piece normally has the name "lego" on it, if it's not there, then chances are that it's not Lego...

2) I don't think scala is part of the Lego system, like bionicle. That means scala (and bionicle) parts are not supposed to be mixed with lego system parts, but sometimes they do go together. so in this case, I'd say, if it works, then do it...

I think that is playmobil. My brother used to have some of them and he used to collect playmobil.

Already been said.

Not 'sometimes' they do go together. Almost always they can fit together with the right System pieces... I have a couple of Scala sets (not ones with the massive figures) and although a lot of the pieces have 'flower patterns' rather than studs, bricks wider than 1 stud both ways will fit on them. The Scala accessories are good, but if you don't like using really big parts in your MOC's, you won't find those bits good. Personally I love the turquoise horse trough pieces, they can be used for a number of strange things.:wink:
