Brainbox Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Welcome to Bat-MOC 4. Up this time we've got some vehicles, some figs, some vigs, and... something else. I think I went a bit mad at times here, so bear with me. Bat-vehicles Batpod I accidentally came up with a really good front wheel design the other day, in an attempt to help WetWired with his then-WIP model. I liked it, so sat down yesterday and built the rest of the Batpod. It is quite accurate, and I've managed to get the front wheel attached on only one side. The guns don't spin with the wheel, and it's surprisingly stable. The rear wheel can raise and lower a bit, but I forgot to get a picture of that. Seriously, I love this. I honestly think this is one of my favourite MOCs I've ever built. Gallery Bat-snowmobile Batman needs some way of getting around in the snow, surely. Gallery Robin's Go-kart He wasn't always old enough to drive, you know. I based this on the design of the TOWN racers of old. Gallery Whirly-Bat In his last Treat, Batbrick built a Whirly-Bat, but he foolishly built the wrong one. He chose the gyrocopter one. I wanted to do something a little silly, so built the true Whirly-Bat, a single occupant mini-copter from the comics of the 50s and 60s. A book I have shows it in blue, so I did that. I took a few creative liberties, but never mind that. Just bask in the wonder... I'm rather a fan of this as well, I think it turned out quite good. Gallery Villain vehicles Pogo umbrella I was flicking through a book and came across a picture of the Penguin on a pgo-stick umbrella. Cue MOC stage right. You know, this turned out quite difficult to photograph. It doesn't stand up on its own, you see. Gallery Rocket Umbrella Inspired by the 60s film I watched the other week, I built an umbrella-shaped rocket for the Penguin. I'll say one thing for it, Pengy seems to be enjoying himself. Gallery Figs Matches Malone Batman's underworld disguise. I know Batbrick has one in his BS gallery of the same design, but I was the first one (of about four people) top post the idea, so I got it. Okay, so the suit isn't perfect, but you get the idea. I also did him with a choice of black or brown haor, as he's had both in the comics. Diver Robin I made Batman a diving suit for the last Bat-MOC, so decided the Robin deserved one as well. Gallery Diver Nightwing The I figured Nightwing should have one as well. Gallery Group shot Bat-armour (2) A sort of 'glider Bat-armour' loosely based on the one from Justice. Gallery Bat-vig Batusi! Past Bat-MOCs have included vigs of famous Batman comic panels, complete with sound effects. This time, I wanted to do something different. So, I present 'Batman does the Batusi' from that frankly bizarre scene from the 60s TV series, complete with music note sound effects. Gallery Other Bat-plow When Batman faces Mr Freeze, there's likely to be an awful lot of snow and ice on the roads. So how will the Batmobile cope? Simple: Gallery Bat-lamp For when the Batcave gets just that little bit too dark... Gallery Batbrick And of course, the obligatory Batbrick/Brainbox joke. As Batbrick and Brainbox chat endlessly and inanely, EB crumbles around them... What's worse is it's true. We ruined the Batman '08 thread, and had to rein ourselves in in Castle and Agents threads as well! Gallery Hope you liked. Quote

JimBee Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Nice work, Brainbox! There are some weird ones in there, like the lamp post, but some are really neat. Your batpod is amazing, very accurate. The snowmobile, go-kart, and bat-copter aren't that great, IMO. The diving suits are clever, and I like the group shot. I also liked the umbrella pogo and rocket, as well as the armor. Good work! I love it really, good choice of tyres too. The shoulder pads are nicely made, and the fact that it connects by one side makes it all the much better. Batman looks great riding it, looks like I'm going to have to remake my cruddy one now, good job. The grapple hooks are great too, too bad you couldn't get the third guns on. Well donew on getting a good way for Bats to stick on too. Bat Snowmobile: Holy Snowmobile Batman! This thing is TOO cute! Not much else to say, I like the sleds, are we to expect a, erm, larger snowmobile in the future? Robin Go Kart: Hehe, reminds me of Mario Kart. Good job on the colours, I know they're hard to get right. Whirlybat: I did it wrong? ME? As if! Still, I love this crazy thing, despite its impractibility. The fins at the back like in the pic are nice and simple, but add a lot to it. Honesty though, it only really looks good when Bats is in it, as he fills out it quite a bit. Pogo Umbrella: ? Now, I don't know if I'm missing anything, but I think the end piece grill should be placed evenly on the cylinders. Matches Malone: FINALLY! Now I can showcase mine! Love him, he looks great in that suit, I like him with brown or black, which are you displaying him as? Divers: Love the colour scheme here for robin, really suits and looks quite practical. Same for Nightwing, I like that you've chosen their base colour first. I might have to start making these "suits". Bat Armour: Pretty cool, i'll have to see the story to comment more though. He looks a bit medieval however. Batvig: :laugh: I love the Batusi! This I HAVE seen! Great job rendering this, it succeeds in all levels for a vig, and is very funny. Love the amps. Bat plow: Oooh! A very neat idea! I like this, is it detachable easily? Bat lamp: Er, good? Batbrick: , I laughed in my seat at this, quite fantastic! The other came in only the first episode ever (Hi Diddle Riddle), when Batman is drugged by the Riddler in a nightclub and ends up dancing the Batusi. it is. The front tyre does sort of bouce up and down a little because it's got the old axle connection rather than the new one, but that doesn't really bother me. I found one I'd forgotten I had the other day, and I might pick up a Clone Troopers BP to get the other. The clones are always useful after all. The thing is, my design makes it a little less sturdy but ultimately I'm happy with it. I only have two Chases. One is Chase, the other I've already borrowed the hair for something else.
