Angeli Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I am back with my black and red Drow castles! ...actually I never stopped building, I just stopped posting Anyway, this is Underdark part of my 12x4 (48x48) diorama and it goes under it, it is 10x2 (48x48), and I will post it in parts, as they are divided in display also :) First, these are Drow :) I am very proud of new Drow minifig desing, with head I found :) Usually in past I would just use plain black head, but this one had menacing eyes, so it was almost perfect (I bet there will be Drow in next CMF of D&D:) Moc is 2x4 (48x48) as always, if you click a picture it will take to the larger version where you ca see details :) The last one is Phalar Aluve, sword in stone, people who played Baldur's Gate 3 will recognize it :) You can find larger pictures and more of them here (link) Next, here is Ilihtid encampment: moc is 2x2 (48x48) You can find larger pictures and few more here (link) I had so much problems playing Baldur's Gate 2 with ilihtids, and they are also main antagonist of Baldur's Gate 3 (well, one off:). I was going like trough breeze once I discovered level five priest spell "chaotic command" that protected my party, but still, truly fearsome adversary :) Third, Dwarven market also made on 2x4 (48x48), this is outside of a dwarven fortress inside Underdark, where they barter for goods with various buyers from all around :) outside of their walls you can see typical Underdark flora and fauna :) Adventurers fighting monsters or other parties, hidden treasures and so on You can find larger pictures and more of them here (link) As extra note, everything was built with a lot of trans neon green and orange, as it will be with blue LED strip light on the ceiling of display. I made example of how it will look with hand hold blue light. Why blue and not black light? Because even though black light makes trans neon bricks shine stronger, it squashes all other colors except white. With blue light, you can still see all other colors, which makes it more interesting in colorful setting Forth, Ramazith's tower As a special threat, here is a 3m tall castle that is on just one baseplate, no other materials inside, and no technic bricks used for construction. It goes above Underdark, but I just wanted to remind people with my black and red castles :) The whole build has only one minifig, and it is Lorroakan, players of Baldur's Gate 3 will also recognize him - and I just went on wiki to see his picture, and saw he was a human - I could have sworn he was an elf, thus elf years :) You can also see my 5 years old son who practically lives in my LEGO studio, helping with every single build, here posing for scale :) you can larger pictures here: (link) Uh, this felt good :) I haven't been coding posts for years :) I was actually building for almost 5 years commercially, sometimes what I wanted, sometimes what clients asked, and after the last job I had nothing lined up, so I decided to build something for myself, my own soul. Especially when son asked me "can we keep this one home, not sending it to events?" when I showed what I desired to build :) I started buying minifig parts, something I haven't dome for almost 8 years, as you can't really see minifigs in commercial builds, also, regular civilians who are not AFOLs can't really appreciate this regular armor over that hard to find one, and combination of accessories - one of things I really enjoyed in past, building minifigs from AD&D lore The idea is to build a wall creations - something long and tall, but not very deep, so it can go on large walls on events, and also allow visitors to see details, especially because they can't go around it, as it is connected to the wall. 4 baseplates deep is good for that In original, the idea was to build 16x4 diorama with 10x2 Underdark under it, and this still stand, with 2m tall dragon I was planning to build with friend from UK - such a large statue must have metal frame inside, maybe be glued somewhere and is a stand alone moc that is inserted into diorama at the end. I also got a lot of heads from dragon paladin and bodies from large knight in NEXO knights, and combined them into army for castle I plan to build around dragon. The whole diorama is around 4m tall from bottom till end, has two gorgeous Selune towers with selunites inside (moon warrior minifig torso is perfect for this, there are ton of dragons inside, 10 from hungarian horntail set with four wings, and hundreds of minifigs, parties, even a party from Baldur's Gate 2 - Keldorn, Imoen, Minsc (holding Boo), Viconia, Imoen and Edwin I am taking it slow, enjoying every moment. I forgot how good this feels, building for joy, and sharing your joy with other AFOLs I missed you :) (link) Selunites (link) Dragonborn (link) Viconia deVir (link) Drow (link) dragons Quote
Yoggington Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Excellent choice of head for the atmosphere you were after. Of course, it's excellent all round, but I do love the head! Quote
zoth33 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 You've done it again great builds. The lighting looks great with all of those trans parts. The figs look great too. Quote

Expand thank you :) I was also very focues on building mushrooms all over, as well as myconids, mushroom people - there are so many details there, like microfigs in the white tree (actualy Sussur tree who's bark can be used to make magical weapons, explored also in Baldur's Gate 3 :) Quote
jtooker Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Awesome creations! The Drow creations are great, especially under the blacklight. The head brick works very well. Quote
