Holodoc Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 With my last Bricklink order came some unprinted fleshie heads. Ladies and gents, I proudly present my new avatar: Click on first image to go to folder - when moderated. (Excuses for the bad quality, but the original photo is better. Whenever I upload my pics to brickshelf they seem to lose quality. Has anybody noticed that too?) I thought it over and over, but after all Star Trek is a licensed theme so I at least had to try creating a new avatar. Having it done I must say I really love it! No turning back to yellow. Cheers and flesh ON! Quote
Stauder Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Looking at the close up makes me wonder weather it is a decal or hand painted... Do reeveal your technique... It looks to be a decal tough. Staudie. Quote

Stauder Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 The torso I know is hand-painted, but is the head handpainted aswell? Staudie. Quote

maiq the liar Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Nice, but... BUUUURN THE FLESHIE! BUUUUUURN! BUUUUUUUUURN IT!! Quote
Shoc Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I have to agree with maig. It's great, and I see a likeness to the Star Trek Voyager character, but... No turning back to yellow. That makes me sad.. :skull: Quote
Johnny 5 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I personally think that the yellow version was a bit better looking myself. Quote
Derek Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Nice, but...BUUUURN THE FLESHIE! BUUUUUURN! BUUUUUUUUURN IT!! Was that really necessary? That's just really obnoxious... Anyway, Nice new Avatar, I agree it looks better in flesh, and I'm still sorry about your bad luck with you rother one.... darthperson Quote
BerndDasBrot Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (I think there are some unwritten rules for fleshies? licensed LEGO: fleshies: okay. looks more realistic. classic LEGO: yellow: okay. looks like always. customized: whatever you want. MOCs: whatever you want so there's no point in burning the fleshie. Just wanted to say that.) Anyway: great job! You must have a very calm hand! Did you take the minifig apart for the painting process? Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Holodoc, nice work! You sure have drawn well, especially on the face. I thought it was a decal as well. Nice, but...BUUUURN THE FLESHIE! BUUUUUURN! BUUUUUUUUURN IT!! Maiq, could you tone down on your fonts and put it in a constructive manner? You are not putting it across effectively. Thanks WhiteFang Quote
