Elephant Knight Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I know not all people's screens are the same size. mine currently has the SMF quartermaster half shown, Steve is almost directly in the middle of my screen, so that's good. It's currently looking very empty to Steve's right. I agree the 10210 Imperial Flagship needs to be back up there. And a classic monkey! EKnight Quote

bingowaldorf Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I think the new banner is a great start so far! I would love to see my favorite set 10210 on there to represent Pirates 2009. Any maybe we could have one modern set as well; like the creator pirate set, barracuda bay, or the new Eldorado? Quote
BladeStraight Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Definitely the OG crew of Redbeard, Bo'sun Will, Rummy and Anne Quote
GeoBrick Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Regarding the banner, it doesn't scale with screen size. On my mobile device, it barely passes 'Steve'. On my desktop, i can see it completely past the CMF 'quartermaster'. Quote

The finished banner will be centered - this one is aligned to the left. Quote

aFrInaTi0n Posted February 8 Posted February 8 @Mister Phes I just tested out the dark theme - it is looking awesome & really gives the effect of switching over from a sunny day on the beach to a night with full moon shining. You did a wonderful job there (on both themes and re-implementing the background images). Quote

But none of it would have been possible without your hard work and dedication! Quote
GeoBrick Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Heh, the blueish details of the background banner remind me of the Van Gogh set. Quote

GeoBrick Posted February 21 Posted February 21 So... Regarding the dark theme banner... Was it intended that the Moon sets at the horizon as seen from the Southern Hemisphere. I'm just curious, that's all. Quote

Nice to know the banner has fueled your imagination! However, it's more a case of the banner being a lot wider than it is tall, so that doesn't give much room to work in. The moon is actually AI generated with no consideration whatsoever to where its face is positioned - it was a case of getting something done as quickly as possible because I don't have much free time at the moment. Maybe it gets replaced with a more accurate moon at some point, but for now I'll focus on updating the light/day time banner. I'm based in the southern hemisphere and from my perspective the moon rises from the horizon and gradually climbs higher and higher throughout the night. Never have I seen it set, but rather it just become less visible in the sky as the sunrises. And I've got up at the crack of dawn while it's still dark and watched hundreds of sunrises to make that observation. Quote

Especially if you live in the wider tropics region. I've seen the Moon's progress through the sky from roughly the northern polar circle to Antarctica throughout my life. Quote
