Auroralampinen Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Well, this wasn't meant to happen. I was planning on making something different with this chassis. But when i put side panels on, it looked so good dump truck. So i decided to convert that to dump truck. And it looks really pretty:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Well, now the cute little dump truck is done. And this is so fun to play with. So now i will make free instructions for this. Im really proud of this:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Here is the mini dump truck next to tracked outback dumpers:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 Well, now the 3d model instructions are done. Final piece 677. And it tooked about 5 hours to make instructions. And no i didn't take any breaks. This was made in one sitting:). Ps. And i don't know how, but this mini model has more pieces than the 42203. Even thought the 42203 is bigger:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 Here is calendar for next months stuff:). Firstly, i will go to summer cottage in two weeks time. To have nice relaxing end to the summer seasons:). Secondly, i have started to making my first scripted review:). And that review will be my second review in eurobricks:). The second set review is coming in august or in september:). So have a nice end of july and august:). Ps, and yes, im really excited for the set, wich i will be reviewing. So stay tuned:). Quote

icm Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Eh, wouldn't it be better to list those as owned on your Brickset account and then post a link to your collection? Saves space, is more visually interesting, information-rich, feature-rich than a plaintext list of set numbers. More fun for you too. Quote

Auroralampinen Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 A new model:). I have decided to give these a name. So these are the soap box models:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 All right instructions are done. And without any mistakes, i had to double check the instructions. So the mini dump truck fiasco will not recur again:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 Well, i did look my youtube channel stats. And im now blown away, my video for the better dump truck has over 5000 views. And even thought that has the garbage gen 1 instructions. It is still my most popular moc. And im sorry i have not been able to fix the instructions. But maybe some day in the future, i will upgrade those instructions:). But incase you are wondering. Yes, i have wanted to be always very famous. But i like to keep my self a really humble person, without too much publicity. And because of my humble behavior and personality. I have made the desicion early on to keep my mocs free to build and enjoyed on. I might not be the best designer. But i still have a huge passion for technic, and i like to share my builds for everyone to enjoy them. And im still improving stuff, so feedback about my mocs is really welcomed. And it helps me to improve and to learn, how to make stuff even better:). So i really wish you have a great and fun time building and playing with my mocs. And if you have found some issue in my moc, wich needs to be improved. Pleace leave comment, and i will look on it. And figure out an fix for that issue:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 Well, today i went to my storage closet to find dvds. And i found some of my old lego pieces wich survived the dark ages piece sellout. Here is one of the chromed wheels from the 8285 wich i got when i was a kid. I remember that when i got the 8285 as a gift from my family, and the sticker sheet was missing(the 8285 was unopened). That was really sad and since the 8285 was long ago retired i could not get a replacement sticker. But the chrome wheel is the only part wich excist from the 8285. Since i liked to take apart all of my sets to create something different without instructions:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 7 Author Posted August 7 And, if you still have questions why i have choosed to make only free instructions and not to profit from them. Well, here is the full answer:). When i was a little kid, i used to look on rebrickable what cool technic alternative builds was availdable. But most of them were behind paywall. So i wont be able to build it. Because i was little kid and my parents wont buy me instructions. And yes i know that lego is expensive hobby and moc builders want to make living. But with my personal experience i don't want anybody to left, behind because of the paywall. So this is the reason why my mocs will stay free. And i will not charge anything for my instructions. Because i want everybody to enjoy building mocs and alternative builds. And enjoy moc creator unique building solutions:). Quote

Bricklink Studio used to enable uploading MOC's there and people could download the full Studio file, regardless of it being based on IP licenses or anything. Now those are blocked because of LEGO and set to "for display only" so people don't bother to upload cool stuff there anymore including me. I am sure TLG is already planning on how to acquire Rebrickable too which would be a catastrophe. Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 (edited) Coming soon. Well, since eurobricks was down, i have been able to keep my newest moc as a complete secret. Release date hopefully tomorrow or wednesday. Stay tuned:). Edited August 11 by Auroralampinen Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 Happy news. My newest moc might be revealed today. I have complete now free instructions for that model:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 In case you are curious, how much money i have poured into my lego hobby. Its in total about 3000-6000€. And im not a ultra rich person, im a lower income person so i save a lot. And now i buy used sets for cheap, so i save little bit money there. And since i enjoy building legos att all times, this is a small fee for me. And its nice when everyone can enjoy my mocs as much as me. And im funding my lego hobby totally by my self with my own money:). Quote
Divitis Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Something I look at the price per hour of the entertainment i choose. For example, a movie night is 12€/hour with poocot A book, probaby 2€/hour With this calculation, I am never feeling guilty buying Lego Quote

For example, a movie night is 12€/hour with poocot A book, probaby 2€/hour With this calculation, I am never feeling guilty buying Lego Honestly, Technic is a CHEAP hobby, at least if you're into MOCing and reusing parts, instead of collecting sets. My Technic collection is probably worth under $2000 CAD, and I've probably gotten well over 4000 hours of enjoyment out of it over the last nine years! And, of course, I still have almost all of the Lego, which could theoretically be resold to recoup a lot of that money. I'm also a bit of a "car guy," and enjoy reading about people's project cars, but when you look at the cost of everything to do with cars, it becomes pretty clear that I can get way, way more enjoyment per dollar out of Lego than cars! Even a dirt-cheap beater project car would probably be at least $2000 (assuming it's rust free enough to ever pass inspection), and then you're looking at hundreds on tires, hundreds on fluids, and hundreds for parts, not even factoring in insurance, fuel, and any modifications! I think I'll keep my car interest at the level of daily-driving an interesting car, and maintaining it, thank you very much! Quote

I think I'll keep my car interest at the level of daily-driving an interesting car, and maintaining it, thank you very much! Well, im not a "car guy" myself. Im a cyclist, basically every lego sets in my collection has been hauled by my trusted e bike with cargo trailer. And when i started this moc building. All of the first batch sets were hauled by my e bike with cargo trailer, and yes, it only tooked 2 trips, because i did go to 2 different stores to pickup lego sets:). Here is newest lego haul, pictured from the cargo trailer:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 20 Author Posted August 20 In case you need proof that my e bike did handle the first batch sets. Here is my e bike at the second store, where i did pick up the rest of the sets:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 Well, here is my recent projects and stuff. I did make the g500 from 42213 chassis. After that i have not made any projects. I have now take my time on my other hobby the cycling. I have now made 3 trips about 35km(about 19miles) and now i maded 46km trip(about 29miles). And last week i got my new bicycle, and i have started really making long trips with my new bike. I have planned to make 100km trip soon(about 60miles):). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted Tuesday at 05:32 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:32 AM Well, i probably will start doing a monthly update:). Last month i launched my first Pantasy set review:). And tides have turned i have now becomed a pantasy fan and i will do every month att least one pantasy review:). So i will not make anymore offical lego sets reviews. Because of the recent lego price developements, i have decided to stop buying lego's, but this don't affect my mocs because i still buy lego pieces for my mocs but i mostly buy them used:). So about my mocs:). My recent moc the g500 has done pretty well i have currently no new projects:). Upcoming stuff:). I did sell my old bike so in october you will see a lot of pantasy set reviews:). Ps, im not a lego hater i like what they do but recent price developements are too much for me and pantasy has made many great models with amazing value, so i have becomed a pantasy fan and collector going forward. So i have completely stopped buying offical lego sets for display. I only buy lego technic pieces for my moc building spree, but you won't see me reviewing anymore offical lego sets:). And other note, my instructions will be still free eventhought i do monthly pantasy set review. So don't worry the pantasy review spree will not affect my instructions, because i fund everything with my own hard earned money;). Quote
