Aye pirates!

Let me introduce you to my latest creation: The Flying Dutchman!

Yes, I had already made one, but I was contacted a year ago by a group that makes exclusive limited edition sets that asked me to realise it. The prospect of seeing one of my creations usable by others and packaged with a customised box and printed instructions really excited me, and I jumped at it!

The ship is 97 cm long by 29 cm wide and 70 cm high. It consists of about 7,200 pieces and for the occasion a seamstress was asked to create the sails using professional methods.

The photos you see are of the prototype built to test everything before confirming it.

Thanks for your attention, I hope you enjoy it!

A very beautiful version of the Flying Dutchman! The ship's bow is well built and the figurehead looks scary. The ship's hull is angled at the rear end and becomes narrower towards the stern. The various decks of the ship can be reached via stairs. The rigging and sails are elaborate and detailed.

Thanks for the compliments! Glad you like it!

Can you tell who is making this set? Is it going to be made with Lego bricks or some competitor brand?

The set was produced in 12 numbered copies. I don't know who all the buyers are but I hope to hear from them soon!

The box contains only original Lego bricks. There are only custom sails and ropes.

A UV printed nameplate was also made on a Lego tile.

I said it elsewhere, I'll say it again, yours version of the Flying Dutchman is simply the best Capt @Barbatos.

Photos are excellent quality, really professional look.

Since I'm not a member of the ACOL Facebook group, and could not see the detailed information, I was wondering, what was the price for one ship?

Thank you so much @Marooned Marin

I don't want to make advertisement here, I ask the moderators to delete the comment if it's it is not welcome...

Spoiler

The set cost 1.990€. It's made from over 7.200 original LEGO pieces, with 10 custom-made sails and rigging (not original). There's an exclusive 8 x 16 UV printed tile, printed and bound instructions and a dedicated graphic box.

To be honest, that's not unreasonable, I've seen custom sets that had twice the price per piece... Will the instructions be released? (I'm sure someone would be willing to build it)

Up to now I'm not planning to sell only the digital instructions. I've already had my work stolen some time ago and I don't want it to happen again.  Maybe when the collaboration ends I could sell the manuals...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I just saw on the main reddit forum for counterfeiters (r/Lepin) that their factories got hit hard (2 of them closed down and now everyone there is in a panic...)

Great ship, very nice shaping. I would love to see this as a ship fit for sailing, though, rather than a shipwreck. How long have you been working on it (and how many total hours)?

Thank you! I don't know how many hours, on average one hour a day for 10 months...

Nicely done, reminds me a bit of the digital model from the PotC games but bigger.

Makes me want to revisit my own redention of the famous ghostship.
