RDG31 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Hi Just wondering where you guys keep all your Lego as I have quite a few sets but I am quickly running out of space as I only have one shelf! Please help!!!
Stash2Sixx Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I only keep a few of my sets built. Otherwise I have all of my LEGO bricks organized in Sterilite drawers/containers. For the smaller pieces, I use small nut and screw drawers. It's much easier this way when I want to build.
NewRight Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I actually sorted my elements by color though I would recommend sorting by the type of element and storing them in either large tubs or small tubs available at most stores. Good luck.
Fatespuppet Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Sorting by piece type and not color is definitely the way to go. It's tons easier to find that red 1x6 in a container of 1x6s then to find it in a container of red bricks. I use sterilite drawers for the larger piles of pieces(bricks, slopes etc) and these come in all shapes and sizes. It is also great when you have a need for a lot of one type of brick because the drawers are removeable. For smaller bits I use plastic racks designed to hold screws and nails and other various small bits of hardware. They tend to come in 20+ drawer configurations with drawer dividers for even more holding power, and they tend to run about 10 to 20 bucks each.
Derek Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 1. Get another shelf. 2. Save any plastic container you may come across that you could reuse 3. Invest on some Rubbermaid bins or something along those lines. dp
Hinckley Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Hey there RGD. It's a good idea to use the search feature before starting a new topic. We have a big thread about this topic with great advice...here
