silentscream Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 DOES NOT TRANSFORM This is my first serious attempt at a MOC, so go easy. I initially attempted a transforming version but too many compromises were required making both modes look worse than I would like. As my Optimus Prime is always displayed in robot mode I decided that an accurate robot mode was the better outcome. Includes Fusion Cannon, Energon mace, Energon sword, Blaster pistol, Key to Vector Sigma, and Energon cube. Similar poseability to Optimus Prime, but more limited in the elbows (small alterations can allow better movement) and shoulders. Has an added knee bend. Stands under his own weight, and feels similarly sturdy to Prime. A pin is included that can be inserted under the right arm to help take some of the weight of the fusion cannon when posed horizontally to attack Autobots. Built to scale with LEGOs genuine Optimus Prime, Prime might be one plate taller depending on the pose. 1543 Pieces Instructions and Part List are available on Rebrickable Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 This looks incredible! Seriously menacing, and immediately visible as Megatron. I'm currently working on a transforming one (tank, not gun, as it'd be a good bit larger than your average Walther P38), and I gotta say, yours looks much more accurate in robot mode than mine does! Ours are actually pretty similar around the neck/shoulders which is cool, and we both defaulted to Optimus's feet! That face is particularly good, it looks really animated without having to use any prints. Quote
Artanis I Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Very nice! I agree about the face. Looks like he is saying "StarscreeEEEEAAAMMMMM!!!!" You have to compromise somewhere on a G1 Megatron, the original toy looked terrible in robot mode, so if anybody can make a version that transforms and looks good in both robot & pistol mode, they are an absolute genius. Feuer Zug Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Wicked! You captured Megatron perfectly in bricks. Considering the transformation of Megatron, not having that isn't a loss. He never really transformed that much anyway. Quote
