Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was some sort of Lego loyalty card, and where I could get one. I'm going to Florida in October, and I plan to buy a lot of lego.

The closest I've seen to what you're looking for is a "stamp card." For every $25 you spend at a Lego retail store, they stamp your card. After 8 stamps, you get a $10 gift card; after another 8 stamps, you get a $20 gift card. Then you start over with a fresh card.

I have to say, these things are deviously effective. Everytime I go into the Lego store in Schaumburg, IL, I can't help myself. I HAVE to spend $25 in order to get that next stamp!! I'm currently only one stamp away from the $10 card. Hmm ... maybe I should stop in there after work tonight ...

I have the $10 card. I got the Eiffel Tower!

LOVE the Loyalty card! I also fall prey to the "spend a bit more" to get the stamp. I've filled several of them over the last few years, and I can honestly say that the loyalty card, the PAB wall, and grab bags are the reasons that I when I buy LEGO at retail, I do so at the LEGO stores.

Led,

As long as you're buying at a LEGO store, ask for the card when you checkout, as you can't go back and get the stamps afterwards if you forget. Enjoy your LEGO trip...er.. I mean Vacation.

Joebot,

I probably won't be there when you are, but if you're there around 8:40 tonight, I'll be there installing my stuff in the community window.

As others have said the stamps are good, depending on how long you are staying pick up a calendar sheet as sometime there are double stamps days and other discount and they are great!

No kidding?? Dude, that's awesome! I probably won't make it to the store tonight, but next time I'm there, I will definitely check out the community window. That is very cool.

Cardinal Brick -- oh yeah, double-stamp days are sooooo dangerous. I can talk myself into buying anything during double-stamp days.

Good job Chicago crew! Yes, that is exactly how the stamp/loyalty card works. I work this morning tho, so I will not see Eilif's display til tomorrow morning...but I'm sure it will look good!

Good suggestion. As well as double stamp days, ask for a lego club official membership card. It doesn't do much, but every so often, you get something cool. I rarely check the calendar but I always ask when I go in. Last year there was a day that everyone who showed the card got a tic-tac-toe set (read: 5 cop and 5 convict minifigs!) for free with purchase. It just so happened that I was visiting two stores that day to find certain items, so I ended up with two of them!

Wow loyalty cards? I've never been lucky enough to shop in a Lego store. :cry_sad: The closest ones to me are 6 hours away. I think that's sad considering they missed the entire state of North Carolina. If they dropped one right in the Piedmont Triad area it would be 90 minutes from both major cities(Raleigh and Charlotte) as well as square in the middle of 3 cities(hence being called the Triad).

All you lucky fools with a local Lego store will never know how great you have it. :sadnew:

They missed Michigan too. At least I finally got King's Castle Siege, and it was $30 US off, too!

Of course, Michigan has no economy these days...I'd go back to Europe if I could.

Most of us know just how lucky we are, I remember a time before we had any UK stores, and when Bluewater was so far away,

Thanks so much!

I don't want to hijack the thread anymore than it has been, so I'll start a new thread about the display a bit later.

One more hint about Loyalty cards and the LEGO store:

If you go to the LEGO store and they don't have a set in stock, you can ask them to check LEGO online. If it is in stock online, they will order it for you and ship it to your house free of charge! The best part is, if you order it while you are at the LEGO store, they will give you whatever stamps on your Loyalty Card you would have gotten if it had been in stock at the store. I don't recall if they charge tax, but it's definatley worth it to save on shipping and get the stamps.

one more...

LEGO store does price matching with their own online deals.

Wow! I really never knew that about LEGO! How generous! I really wish gas wasn't so much, or I'd hop in the car and be off to a Lego Store... :hmpf_bad:

People in US, UK and Germany are so lucky. I live in Vancouver, and the only place to buy Lego is at Toys'R'Us. Wish they could open a Lego Store here, the closest one to me is a 20 hour drive across the border to Anaheim. :cry_sad:

I'm kinda far from a Lego Store, but only about 3 hours as opposed to 20! :oh3: The only way to please everyone is to have a Lego Store in every city in the world!:sad:

I actually wanted to find a job at Lego Canada, but they don't have a base in Vancouver, only halfway across the country in Toronto.

Maybe one day, I keep hoping that they'll expand in the UK as there are a number of new shopping centers coming for high quality brands

The UK has three already! We're lucky! I've only got to one before, but there are lots of other countries that have none, but lots of Lego fans. :sceptic:

But we had five for a while I think so we need to get back to that level.

I suppose it could bring us more tourists.:tongue:
