stuffs Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Hi, I just started here, so to introduce: Im 17, and have been working on lego for a long time. Over the years, my brother and I have built many technic builds, mechs and pinball machines, but for the past around 1 and a half years, have been making an original 1/8 scale technic car frame. At this point we duplicated it and I'm going to make the Jag cx-75 and he's making a Pagani Utopia. We have included a custom gearbox with working paddleshifters, steering from wheel (not a hog fan) and deployable rear wing connected to the adjustable suspension. Looking back, maybe the path we should've taken with this car was to use other people's designs for some of the mechanisms (adjustable sus and gearbox especially) which would've made our model a lot more reliable and compact but we wanted to be original. Either way, the outer panels are probably the trickiest part- especially as the looks were the main reason for building the cars. There are some bits that I could use some help on. First the rear lights which I have already started on (see pic.- the bottom inner section should be red also just dont have that color). I am trying to get the led line to be as thin as possible so for the outer light section I used the small technic panel fairings 21 and 22 upside down, and for the inner ones to get the right angle- fairings 7 and 8 and then 2 and a half bricks space before the red tooth piece held on the end, and a bendable tube around the top. If there was a better piece to fill the 2.5 gap and get a smooth transition between the blue (supposed to be red) faring and the tooth that would help alot. Another thing on the back that is going to be tricky is the diffuser shape, im trying to work that out. Second, I havent started on the side yet, because I have no ideas at all of what piece to use for the scoop intake that flows from the rear wheel through the door, getting thinner as it goes. I havent seen any piece that would look like that. Also, I'm looking for pieces to make the front grill shape and front lights. Also trying to work out door mechanism. Thanks for the help! Quote
