McMarky Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Hi, I'd like to show you my recent creation. It's Dragline Excavator. I like the geometry of this linkage and the way it works. It's not a big deal. I've just made a new bucket for my previous MOD of 42042 that I posted some time ago. Quote
JaBaCaDaBra Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 (edited) Nice but they don't work this way. The bucket is thrown, not controlled lowered. Edited November 11, 2023 by JaBaCaDaBra Quote

But it's only a toy and it would take too much space to mount a clutch to enable releasing a drum. Quote

True, and you're not alone in this, I've seen many dragline mocs but nobody ever managed to develop a quick release Besides that, the bucket will probably not heavy enough. it's about 60 years ago that I saw one working but I'll never forget that sound of screaming cables and feel of a giant bucket smashing into the ground. redoak Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 There is one that works like a real one. Quote
Lego Tom Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 It appears how the bucket is lowered depends on the conditions and the operator: https://duckduckgo.com/?hps=1&q=dragline+excavator+video&atb=v341-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D8UCOv2v4hv4 Quote
