fallentomato Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) So I don't know how many of you have heard about this, but this week something amazing is taking place. Joss Whedon, the guy behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly/Serenity got bored during the writer's strike and created a musical about a wanna-be super-villain that is premiering on the internet for free this week. After this Sunday you will have to pay to see it, but for right now it's free and hilarious. Only the first act is up right now, but the second one goes up tomorrow and the third one one Saturday. It is absolutely hilarious. I've already watched Act I 3 times, (but then again I have a soft spot for super-villains, especially struggling ones). The songs are also catchy, I can't wait for the rest to go up. :edit: The second act just went up! Edited July 17, 2008 by fallentomato Quote
Brainbox Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Ha, nice. The obvious comic book parallels are neat, and considering it was done with a skeleton cast and at a time when it was likely difficult to produce anything it's a good piece of work. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Shoc Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) I heard about this a while ago but subsequently forgot to look it up. Thanks for bringing it up. I've watched Act 1 so far, but because I'm impatient (hehe) I couldn't be bothered to watch the talking scenes, I just skipped to the songs. Because I'm a big musical "theatre" lover, and I have a suspicion that I have ADHD... :skull: Edited July 17, 2008 by Shoc Quote
Plural Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Thanks for posting this. I heard about it a while ago and didn't check for any updates. Totally loved it. Great choice of cast. "The hammer is my penis." Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Wow, that was hilarious, and the songs are great. I am still amazed they got "NPH"! CT Quote
