Johnnyopies Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Ever wonder who won this one? This model is my guess. I've tried to stick to the spirit of the old mini sets. This one is just 29 pieces. https://www.instagram.com/p/CwCsA4vq2Hc/ Quote
Mazin Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Nice simple moc, but if it was a legit lego set i'd forget about all that water and leave just a shipwrecked fellow fighting off that shark, simpler and cheaper, and perhaps that anonymous wooden element could be replaced by some real one-piece furniture that would add move value to it, like a door? I have a similar set released by Playmobil ;) https://www.amazon.pl/PLAYMOBIL-SpecialPLUS-70598-tratwą-rekinem/dp/B08KTN7BXX Quote
Johnnyopies Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 Thanks for the feedback. I agree that LEGO would leave out the water, but I really like it... And the wake around the shark. A door is a good idea, I'll have a look. By the way, I'm new as you can see, which sites can I link to for images? Instagram doesn't seem to work. Quote

The wake around the shark is well made, it really feels like the shark is emerging. IMHO, there isn't really enough of a "build" here for me to give feedback on; I'd love to see more of a raft or a bit of a shipwreck, or something like that. durazno33 Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 I like that you built some water for the shark to sit in and appear to be lunging out of. Having sharks on the top of the water the way Lego always does it is kinda funny to me. I will add that the water looks a bit too square. Water is fluid so some round corners on the water would add some fluidity to the scene. Quote

Also Brickshelf and BrickSafe are specifically for hosting LEGO images. On 8/17/2023 at 10:31 PM, Johnnyopies said: I agree that LEGO would leave out the water, but I really like it... Yeah :) It's listed as either a door plate/board or as a raft in most offers i've seen, and it was obvious it was a door for me, or at least i wanted to think so, as it got the look and it also got those little bolts that suggest it was in a frame... then again it probably could be a cover from a crate just as well, so i guess it's up to buyers imagination to determine what do they want it to be ;) Quote

Like those yellow things at the bottom of the raft - exactly what are they? Wood? Pineapples? An inflatable flotation device? Quote

"sea turtles mate" ;) hm, maybe that's bamboo? thei look a bit like human heads too, little heads, but still head ;) anyway, whatever it is, most important thing is that it's damn cool and that's what counts ;) Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 I always thought that those yellow things were inflatable arm rings tied together - makes the most sense. As for the entry, I guess if such a set was ever made, it would receive similar feedback as the Star Wars 75334 ... Quote

Rogue Redcoat Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) Perhaps because it looks like a shipwreck maybe there could be some land that this guy is trying to get to, and I would also add some supplies drifting in the water with other parts of the ship, anyway, happy building :) Edited August 21, 2023 by Rogue Redcoat Quote
Mazin Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Did this one eliminate itself from the contest due to lack of any build @Mister Phes ? Quote

Yes, what's why it wasn't added to the index - in case the builder revised the build. That doesn't appear to have happened, so should we add now? Quote
