Mandalorianknight Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 As part of my MOC wave of sets, I made an ARC-170 starfighter. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, so I recolored it for an imperial version to post here before I show the whole wave. It's meant to look similar to an official set, meaning it's not studless or exceedingly unstable, and has play features. In this case, spring shooters, flick missiles, and a storage compartment I didn't show off. The winglets are held against the central wings by rubber bands, with a gear function to open them, similar to the 2015 era X-wings. It was shocking to me how inaccurate the 2010 ARC-170 was, but building this I started to understand. It's hard to make the winglets stable with the holes in the middle, and at the same time it's easier to leave a hole in the middle of the central wings for the turning function than it is to put the greebling in. (Though the greebling's harder to see with this color scheme anyway) Quote
