Sugar Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Well, according to Maori lore, Tuma is kinda violent :/
Shakar Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Thought this was interesting: LOOOOOOOK!4. Could Mata Nui leave the BIONICLE planet? 4) Yes 1.Why was Mata Nui created with a seeming lack of powers when these could be important for his protection? (like the powers the Makuta have?)2.Can Mata Nui create universes? b.Travel to other universes? 3.Is there some force on the Bionicle planet which could create a new universe? b.Could one exist in the future? Thanks for your time 1) How do you know what powers he has and does not have? We've never seen him active in story. And what did he have to protect himself from? He is larger and more powerful than anything else we have encountered in this universe. 2) No 2b) Mata Nui can travel outside of the domed universe, yes, but he cannot travel to different dimensions the way an Olmak user can. He can travel in the universe that is outside of the domed Matoran universe. 3) No 3b) No In the first question I was referring to the fact you've confirmed he can't shapeshift, change size etc. His main confirmed power seems to physical strength. The Brotherhood, on the other hand, have lots of different powers. Wouldn't it be useful if he could shapeshift etc.? Does Mata Nui have a lot of different powers (I assume he must to control the universe yet he seems lacking in a number of them)? Also, could a Great Spirit usurp the Great Beings? Could anything? 1) He has the powers he needs to have -- shapeshifting and changing size would not make sense for him, for example. The BOM has the powers it has because they have to deal with dangerous Rahi all the time. Mata Nui does not. However, I think it is reasonable to assume that Mata Nui could call on the powers of any Toa element, since he is the one who bestows those powers. 2) I don't think so, no Shakar Edited September 5, 2008 by Shakar
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) "Yesterday astronomers were amazed to find a giant floating man the size of Europe drifting by the moon. Stay tuned for more news on this disturbing sight, brought to you by XDX News." I wonder HOW he can leave the planet... though it explains how he got there in the first place. -Ikk Edited September 5, 2008 by Ikki o' Moopyville
Shakar Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Edited the first post with more interesting stuff. Notice how he says that "changing size would not make sense for him". That implies that being huge is, well, important for his job... Shakar Edited September 5, 2008 by Shakar

Awesome. It really is amusing seeing BZPwers arguing over whether or not Mata Nui is the Matoran universe. -Ikk
Pencoin Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I agree it makes me chuckle. I think I might know how he could leave the bionicle planet. Well if he has elemental powers then he could do fire/wind = flight?
hewkii9 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I agree it makes me chuckle. I think I might know how he could leave the bionicle planet. Well if he has elemental powers then he could do fire/wind = flight? Why fire? Does he have jet engines that he needs to power? If so, let's hope there's a Toa of renewable oil that whose power he could also call upon.
Clonie Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Why fire? Does he have jet engines that he needs to power? If so, let's hope there's a Toa of renewable oil that whose power he could also call upon. xD I'm thinking Mata Nui is just big enough to jump off the planet?
Sugar Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Thought this was interesting:4) YesShakar Oh that's not fair :-/...I asked him these Q's and he said he couldn't answer them :/... 1.Is Mata-Nui confined to the Matoran Universe? 2.Are Mata-Nui's powers only usable in the Matoran Universe? 3.Is Mata-Nui as connected to the surface, as he is the domed universe?
iLego94 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 xDI'm thinking Mata Nui is just big enough to jump off the planet? I think so too. BTW, look at this picture, uploaded by Triggy on BS01. Its from BIONICLE the Game, and is on the BIONICLE Planet page, Look how big MN the island is! I guess Triggy hasn't seen "the video", because besides the fact that only the Kanohi of Elemental energy is cannon in the game, Mata Nui's head is the island, which covers half of the planet in this non-cannon picture, his back would be arched over and broken in this world, or he would just fall of during orbit XD ~iLego94
iLego94 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Hey, after a quick search, I found out another name for Tuma is Tu, and I also found these names: Tu Edited September 6, 2008 by iLego94
Zarkan Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 To quote Luke Skywalker: "I have a very bad feeling about this..." Man, I hope the Maori don't start threatening Lego and BZPower again - this could be very bad for buisness.

iLego94 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Can I ask... What happened in BZPower exactly? This happened. Tuma seems to be a very uncommon name for the god, Tu is far for popular, so I doubt this will be noticed. I also feel that LEGO will stand up for BZP, due t their close affiliation. And, if they attack, LEGO can use this against. I highly doubt that they will attack though. Hapori Dume might attack them... XD ~iLego94

Well, I'm sorry for them. Just because they use they lenguage they won't be letting use those Toys. I hate that kind of things. Returning to topic, has anyone noticed Malum's Visorak feet on the shield/hand thing?
Clonie Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I don't think they can do anything legally. Since Tuma was cleared by legal, then they agreed to/didn't have a problem with its use. That's the difference between Tuma and the 2001 names -- they weren't legally cleared as far as I know, allowing the Maori to request their withdrawl. But Tuma was cleared. So there really isn't a problem.
Wrinkledlion X Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I don't know for sure that that's right... I was under the impression that "Tuma" was Latin and that they're using Latin words now because, as a dead language, they don't have to run it through legal. Tuma just happens also to be Maori, by chance, and it didn't get checked thoroughly enough.
Antrozek Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 mhhhh, i think that after the epiloge of the 2008 that we would see in bionicle.com, there will be a Bionicle 4 teaser
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Stuff like this totally redeems 2008 from its fail. Well, a lot of it anyway. Ghost can make anything right. -Ikk
Ecto Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) ...those masks. Are the Olda masks. *pure, sweet tears of joy* ALSO there's six spheres. more vehicles? Edited September 9, 2008 by Ecto
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) There probably is one for each Toa, but chance is we won't ever hear of 'em. Still, I say vehicle MOCs and stories ON. EDIT: http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?s=&...t&p=5869140 Hey Greg, Hope that you're having a great day,Just wanted to ask a question: Will 2009's set lineup be like 2008's (i.e. 3 "Good Guys" and 3 "Bad Guys")? Thanks! Should be the same number of sets overall, but the divisions are probably not 3 and 3. Think this is new stuff. THAT makes more sense. Sounds like we could have 2 heroes vs 4 villains this time around and vice versa in summer... or the other way around. -Ikk Edited September 9, 2008 by Ikki o' Moopyville

Wrinkledlion X Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Reminds me of Kini-Nui architecture from Lego.
