80 Dollar Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Awesome pictures! Thanks! Wow, that THING driving Skopio has it´s brain attached to the vehicle and has slizer legs as it´s arms...how weird is that...
The Alchemyst Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks! It was Legends! I still be it's the Movie Tie-in thing. Kiina = Mata Blue Spiked Feet! New armor everywhere, Epic weapon. Loving the Chset armor though, and how the shoulders rise up like Jaller Mahri. And Crystal Blue. Gelu= Seems like he just has two halves of a Snowflake on each side. =/ And other than that, his weapon and neat mask, it's a simple set. He looks really cool though. MN = Recolors win. Still can't tell if it's Keet or Orange. It doesn't look like Mata Yellow or Tan at all. ;; Armor is nice, weapons are... new Hahli Mahri Style Claws? D: Vastus: New armor, cool blade, Awesome mask, and it looks like Metru Green Krika Armor. Ackar: Confirmed that it's an Inika leg with an attachment, looks like it can be useful though. Is that Marbled Inika armor on his legs? :O 4 Red Mahritoran blades, that's nice, and he has a cool sword. Stronius: Still can't tell anything yet. ._. Club, some strange Shoulder armor, and some black Hewkii Mahri Armor it looks like. To Toyfair! [-The Alchemyst-]
Shakar Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) First random toughts. Is Ackar red or dark red? HE HAS A FREAKING FLAME SWORD. Besides the Berix like mask, he reminds me of a revamp of Tahu Olda, and that is good. Stronius...WTF? Does he have a Krika style ponytail? Vastus....his helmet....THIS...IS...SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I don't like Kiina's helmet that much. Looks from the angle that she/he'll have broad masculine shoulders like other sets afterall. I hope not. Maybe she won't be THAT feminine...ah well. Cool new fin like armour however. And GREAT STAFF. Gelu rocks. End. That weapon MN's holding sucks. I think that he lance he wielded in the magazine wuld suit him more. Thornatus and Cendox still suck. Skopio and Kaxium still rock. Shakar Edited January 20, 2009 by Shakar
The Alchemyst Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) In <3 with Cendox. Great for MOCing it looks like, with the pieces and Mata Yellow and I just like the shape. Plus Samus Helmet and $20. <3 EDIT: Kaxium has a great design, but nothing outstanding in the part choice. Thornatus has loads of tan, but meh, I won't get it. Skorpio: I'd so get it if I could. Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Anyone think they're called Legends simply because they're the most outstanding of all Glatorian? That's be a great change, and easy to remember for the kiddies. Plus it fits Mata Nui. And I love them all. Gelu, Kiina, Vastus especially. Ackar is great too, while Stronius is... hard to tell. Mata Nui. It is starting to look like he is ENTIRELY gold and black. 'cause those armor parts are definitely gold, and why would Lego make 'em gold yet make the Ignika yellow? Skopio rider is the best thing i've seen since ever. <3 -Ikk
The Alchemyst Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Legends? How'd Mata Nui fit though, this storyline takes place in a month, and He just popped into BM out of nowhere. If Mata Nui is gold, that would make it the best set ever. All those recolors? In Gold? Awesome, but I doubt it. D: And Thornatus Rider Mask Fails. Hard. It's like taking a Piraka face and ripping off the eyes. [-The Alchemyst-]
Antrozek Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Ackar: Awesome Sword, Awesome shoulder Armor...Win Mata Nui: No words for him...i need buy him Kiina: i like his Helmet as his double trident Stronius: i can't say much...better images soon please Gelu: i like his Helmet, and his swords reminds me to the Z Sword from Megaman Zero Vastus: i love his Shoulder Armor, and his lance Too Thornatus: Is that a Plate Krika mask that i see there?.... Skopio: Awesome set, Awesome Beast, Awesome rider with freaking orange metru legs Kaxium: AQUI LLEGARON LOS MOTO-CHORROS VIEJAAAA...they look pretty well, maybe i'll buy them Cendox: i don't like him much but...its well
Illari Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) China's weapon is the bestest. Mata Nui's weapon looks better than in the blurry pics, imo. More solid and less Hahli Mahri -like. Edit: Woah, that's a lot more posts in a small time. Edited January 20, 2009 by Illari
Algernon Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I do think the ice guy looks promising... I'm lukewarm about the rest.
Can Calyx Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 These sets put the winter Glatorian to shame. Looks like I'll be saving my money until the summer, instead of finishing my current Glatorian. Hopefully I will find some really cheap T-vehicles at the Lego Store in March. Of course, I doubt I'll ever locate a $30 Axalara

Antrozek Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 bioncile 2009 movie vehicles theme one more....it can be real this time, it looks so real....
iLego94 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Mata Nui is a must have. I think I'll buy 2, just to keep one sealed. Where did these new pics come from?? This is the first year ever that we have gotten about 3 different leaks in the middle of January! ~iLego94
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) As long as the music at the start of these videos ain't the real thing, it'll rock. xD Edit: 600 <3 100 per Glatorian. -Ikk Edited January 20, 2009 by Ikki o' Moopyville

What matters is whether Mata Nui will be yelling cheesy catchphrases at the enemy or not. Matters for the movie too now that I think about it.

Refia Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) I remember Greg telling me this about Mata Nui's personality and Mata Nui with a MoL-body. IF what you suggested happened, you would be dealing with a character who has never had the opportunity to have friends, never had to physically fight for anything, never been less than godlike in his powers. Judging from that, I kinda don't see Mata Nui shouting cheesy lines. I expect something Toa Ignika-like from him, the difference between Toa Mata Nui and Toa Ignika being that Toa Mata Nui knows what emotions are but never was able to act on them because he was so big before, while the Ignika did not know what emotions were at all and had to learn both what they were and how to act upon them. I'm thinking Mata Nui might actually be very rash or overconfident, because he's so used to being all-powerful. That would be nice. Most of all, I'm hoping for a deeper character for Mata Nui, like Toa Ignika was. It may just be me, but I found the idea of a Toa Ignika fascinating and probably the most daring step Bionicle took so far (yes, even more daring than Teridax taking over), because it essentially dealt with: What is life? What are emotions and how do you handle them? I want Mata nui to be the same. Greg kinda proved it, Mata Nui never had time for emotions, now he does. Anybody here having the same feeling as me that being trapped inside the Mask of Life might not be that bad at all for Mats? He can now, after all, lead a life he never could before, the life as a normal-sized being with a chance for friends. I'm kinda hoping for a dilema within Mata Nui about getting his real body back or not getting it back. Edited January 20, 2009 by Refia

Hmm....now that's an interesting point....was Mata Nui (whilst in his MU Robot) always like that before he was kicked out??? After all I do remember that Teridax said something in DID about Mata Nui having no friends....as Teridax is now being in charge kept Toa Helryx after he teleported Brutaka, Axonn and Keetongu to the south....but what really annoys me that Teridax is such an evil being and somehow does have a point...(or unless this is how like he convince others like how he tricked the other Makuta getting killed by the storm...???) Mata Nui's dedication lies with the people of the MU, and if he forgets that whilst on Bara Magna, that would be ultimate fail on how a GS should think like.

But wait though, seriously...the Ignika holds memories...it shared a vision to Dekar back in 2007!!!!! And Toa Ignika remembered how Matoro saved the MU last year before he awoken Mata Nui!!!!! Could the Ignika somehow possess similar memories to Mata Nui about his past before being overthrown??? Or would it be useless??? Toa Mata Nui
Nightmare Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I have to say... I remember reading on Biosector01 that he doesn't know about Bara Magna. Which leads me to the point: Destiny. Of course he would return to his body. I mean, he knows what evil is facing his people right now, and he wants his body back for sure. Not to mention, if the stance of Bara Magna helps him to realize why was he created, which might, then he shall return to his body just after seeing what Bara Magnans are going through. Also I'd like to mention: Mata Nui will introduce himself as a Toa. Toa means loyalty to his people, be their protector, the one that will sacrifice himself if doing so will save an entire Universe... And I wouldn't be worried about the fact they're called Legends, but more about the fact that all have the Skrall Maze. And you know what that means if it has storyline significance right? Tuma wins in winter.

Strakk Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Did you notice that there's a life counter on Skopio's tail? EDIT:also on the back on the smallest rider. Edited January 20, 2009 by Strakk
Refia Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 But we know Mata Nui really didn't care that much about his people. Remember the Barraki? Sure, I'd doubt he'll allow for Teridax to continue what he's doing, but the question does arise, what will Mats do? Remember Toa Ignika? He wasn't jumping to give up his life either, but when he remembered Matoro, he understood what he had to do. Who does Mata Nui have to do that? Himself? His own actions caused his own downfall, and he knows it (Greg confirmed this for me). Does Mata Nui have somebody he admires, who he learns from, like Ignika had Matoro? Ignika truly enjoyed being a Toa, and didn't wish to give up that life at first. It took Gali and Matoro to make him do the right thing. But Mata Nui? Mata Nui is not perfect. He too can be tempted by putting himself first, the others second. It's like Matoro in the Kingdom. And it took that Matoro 10 000 years to redeem himself. Teridax actually had a point. Mata Nui was alone, all the time, and cared little for what went on inside of him as long as he could keep functioning. If anything, his time in the Ignika can be a time spent usefully on coming to understand the importance of friendship and caring for those who rely on you, caring in the sense of more than just supplying heat and gravity. Mata Nui needs to learn a lot of lessons, me thinks, and his exile can teach him just that. So who knows, when he gets his body back, maybe Mata Nui will have changed and be really worthy of all the Matoran honour him for. For we all know it, Mata Nui is far from perfect. When he gets back, he'll need a friend, like Teridax has Helryx, so he'll never be alone again. He needs to care more for what goes on inside of him, and not just his job and functioning. Makes me wonder if the Great Beings didn't place too much pressure on Mata Nui's once broad shoulders. It's all my opinion, though. I just like a bit of dilema between friendship and being alone for the good cause.
