SirBlake Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 (edited) I threatened to do my own MOC inspired by @the Inventor and his outstanding Golden Crown Inn It is so well executed and designed, I just had to take a run at my own version. So please don't think I'm copying or trying to steal your thunder, Inventor. Your MOC just inspired me to give something similar a shot, and it was very fun and rewarding to do so. The dimensions were dictated by my shelving, as I made this to absolutely fill a shelf in my display area. As always, parts inventory dictated some creative solutions, and as I was going along, I had some other ideas such as the bull skull ove the bar and antler chandelier that helped to personalize it a bit. Also, the Inventor clearly is a better photographer than I am, but hopefully this will do. The name is a nod to my favorite English pub in town, the Bull & Bush. I intend to get some lighting for the windows and to light up the stage for the band. Edited December 5, 2022 by SirBlake Quote
the Inventor Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Well, I certainly see the resemblance. I like your touch on it though, such as the skull above the bar and the dart board and carpet in front of the stage. Getting that light for the stage will really improve the looks, just like it did on my build. Thanks again for your compliments even as far as trying to build your own interpretation of it. Quote

Thank you so much! There are a lot of details that I still prefer in yours, but this was a really fun exercise. I agree that the lighting will make a huge difference, but I couldn't wait to post pics. :) Quote
NOD Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 That is beautiful! I like the high walls and the balcony. Quote

I can attest to the sincerity part, as we can all identify with the idea of taking inspiration from other people's work, but as soon as I saw the Golden Crown Inn, I knew I had to dive in and give it a go. SirBlake Posted December 20, 2022 Author Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) Lighting added! I think it definitely does a lot of work to bring things to life. EDIT: Also, you can see where I revamped the mounting of the bull skull above the bar. I think recessing it is a better look. Edited December 20, 2022 by SirBlake Quote
