Brickmamba Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I'm looking for Diagon Alley... Any tips from players? (ie should I wait and hope amazon.fr does a special at some time?) Ah bad luck I just sold my last set 2 weeks ago, good luck with the search On a different note, did anyone buy something today on S@H for the Hulk fig, no free shipping so I figured it wasn't worth copping the $30 shipping cost on top of over priced sets, will try pick one up on ebay or bricklink later

If it was free shipping then I would have paid full price for something just to get the fig but wasn't going to pay full price plus the minimum $30 off for shipping
Artanis I Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 On a different note, did anyone buy something today on S@H for the Hulk fig, no free shipping so I figured it wasn't worth copping the $30 shipping cost on top of over priced sets, will try pick one up on ebay or bricklink later Not me, considering the new sets for LOTR, Monster Fighters, Friends & Star Wars aren't on there and have begun popping up on BL for pretty good prices I couldn't find an excuse to fork out $100 on S@H again for one (but this time no free postage). Especially since the Marvel sets are double the US price on there. Hopefully Hulk doesn't go the way of shirtless Maul in the BL price, they are 2 minifigs I want (at a decent price).
distortme Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Not to stir *but* got a Hulk today when I got my UCS R2 while at the Brighton Lego Store :) Still have Legoland Windsor and London Lego Store not to spend more at... Back to it!

Back to it! DIE. I received my May the 4th order today, complete with TIE, TC-14 & 2(?) R2D2 posters. Fastest I've received anything from S@H. Just for the info of anyone stressing about theirs. Sorry Mr Bond, I won't be watching you tonight, I'll be busy Jousting. You'll just have to "Die Another Day".
pjchilds Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Target 20% off http://target.dynamiccatalogue.com.au/portal/dynamiccatalogue?CatalogueID=13360946126815&pageview=thumbnail&selectedCategoryId=691&selectedCategoryName=Toys+%26+Games Note that BigW has Wolverine's Chopper Showdown ( http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=6866-1) for $38.93 vs Target $39. http://www.bigw.com.au/toys/construction/lego/super-heroes/bpnBIGW_0000000304842/?utm_medium=WeeklyNewsletter&utm_source=edm&utm_campaign=20120517_LegoSuperHeroes&SI_LINK=B15
eli_77 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 The prices for Wolverine's Chopper Showdown and Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape have been hugely inflated in Australia if you compare it to previous Superman vs Power Armour Lex set. The Superman set from 4 months ago has 207 pieces, whereas Wolverines set has 199 pieces and Loki's is 181. All three sets include 3 minifigs and all 3 retail for US$19.99 in the US but in Australia the RRP is: Superman set: AU$39.95 Wolverine set: AU$49.95 Loki set: AU$49.95 What gives? Personally I'm going to wait for a Myer buy 2 get 1 free sale which works out because I can get a few of the $50 sets in 1 go but still not happy with the pricing.

Is Myer sticking to rrp for the Marvel sets, or have they inflated it further, like they did for the DC sets?
Hewman Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Is Myer sticking to rrp for the Marvel sets, or have they inflated it further, like they did for the DC sets? That's a very good question, and I have the answer. It looks like Myer have learnt a lesson from their pricing of the DC sets. All the Marvel sets I looked at were at RRP or $1 under in the case of the Quinjet set.

eli_77 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Ad in The Age today - Myer 25% off toys. Finishes Sunday 20th I'm tempted but I'm holding off until the Myer buy 2 get 1 free sale for 33% off my Lego My wife is looking for the bunny suit minifig from the latest collectable series - any tips on how I can pick one out from a box?

If you are having trouble with locating the ears on the headpiece (so many 'chunky' parts in this series...) then the carrot and carrot tops are comparatively easy pieces to identify. Best of luck!

Best of luck! The ears make it easier to find. There are only 3 per box, it is one of the rare minifigs in that series
TeufelHund Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Ad in The Age today - Myer 25% off toys. Finishes Sunday 20th Thanks for the heads up...I managed to sneak in and get the Alien Tripod for a grand total of $6.20 after discount and cashing in a Myer One gift card I received last week!
Hewman Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Lots of sets for sale at shop at home. Harry Potter, Spongebob, Alien Conquest and PotC. Also for those in Adelaide, Target City had a PotC tavern set on clearance for $70 so I assume it's $56 after the 20% off. They also had the big harbour set for $110 before 20% discount (is that reduced, I thought RRP was about $140?) if anyone is looking for a set for a child as I doubt it appeals to many AFOLs.
jonwil Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Anyone seen any good deals on the Friends house? (I want one for the tan bits so I can finish off my tan house MOC)
leng jai Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Really struggling to find a decent deal on Shop@Home to snag the Hulk minifig. I really want it but its hard to pay Australian RRP and shipping on top of that. What is up with the exorbitant shipping rates? $35 to ship the T1 Van from Sydney to Melbourne via snail mail? Really?

It is hard to understand. Chromebricks.com has worldwide for 25 Euro up to 30kg max size 1.2m x 0.6 x 0.6 ... I nearly fell off my chair when a box of this dimensions turned up today (FireStation/TownHall/X-Wing and a few bits -- about a quarter of the box was padded with air)

I have ordered goods from a UK website and they included free shipping for all orders and they weighed significantly more than my recent LEGO orders. A bit hard to cop the high RRP and then shipping too. Im not sure why LEGO couldn't have a distribution centre somewhere closer to Australia, could even be in SE Asia somewhere. Then any s@h orders from the region could come from there, LEGO could take advantage of bulk shipping and pass on the much lower to us. -MM

Pretty much all of their stuff comes via there.
lightningtiger Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Big deal this week ....Kmart just has a few Marvel and Hero Factory sets on sale.
Minifig_Matt Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 They do - it's called Sydney. Pretty much all of their stuff comes via there. Why then when I order from LEGO shop at home it comes from Poland? Maybe the DC in Sydney only supplies Australian retail stores. -MM
feuerbogen Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I just received one of my May the 4th orders from S@H and it definitely came from Sydney. Not sure if it was a straight re-direct or if they assembled and shipped the order from there though.
