selder Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Well, I recently got the 8421 Crane Truck from the Lego Shop. On Brickshelf you can find many photos of this set, and the building of it, so I decided to try something new ... I'm gonna try filming all the functions of this _very_ great set :) It's gonna take a while, I have my right hand in a cast due to an operation ... This is the first one, when he deploys his stands (?): http://www.damn.be/files/media/8421/steunen.avi - 583 Kb - 10sec - divx - no sound Normally this is done manually, but I added a motor just to get a cool video :) Ok, gonna start the next one! gylman Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I got this set a few weeks ago and built it. While it looks cool, and it is a good set, but still it may not be as great as it should have been given its size and cost (and potential). See my discussion (and follow-up posts)on lugnet.technic. http://news.lugnet.com/technic/?n=14326 Has anyone found a solution to the "crashing boom" issue? Cheers. Gyl Quote

selder Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Well, that arm-crashing thingy is kinda normal, this set only has half a pneumatic system, the pneumatic system only allows you to 'lift' the arm. For the 'retraction' of the arm, TLC decided to use gravity... All you need to do is release that valve _very_very_ gently ... This is by design, and the best thing about it is, if you don't like it, you change it! That's why it's Lego :) Quote
