woodford86 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 I don't know if there's some sort of rule against asking this here, but I desperately want to get my hands on Bar 3L's in flat silver...which unfortunately are only available in an old Great Britain Olympics CMF. So they're basically impossible to find AFAIK. Are there any other sources for a good color matched piece? I'm trying to get a couple dozen and willing to break my "no unofficial pieces" rule for this one... Quote
Johnny1360 Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 At those prices, who could blame you, lol Not sure about other brands but would you consider painting them? Quote
dr_spock Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 3mm rigid hose comes in flat silver if you don't mind cutting to 3L and hole in the middle. Maybe that flat silver 1 x 6 x 3 bar with 4 studs from Optimus Prime can be cut into 3L pieces? Quote

Its important they stay arrow straight At such short lengths they'll be super rigid and stay straight unless you really try very hard to bend it forcibly. Other than that I can't really help you with your conundrum, as much as I try to comb through my brain database. I would imagine, though, that indeed you could find a plethora of silver-ish pieces in COBI sets or some Chinese sets depicting military airplanes. I was thinking that but it would be approx 2L in the middle, so they'd need to be cut then glued. It is doable for one but to do it in a reproducable way for a quantity would be difficult. Plus they would be weak. Quote
stagecoachfan Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 (edited) AliExpress can be useful for Lego compatible parts. I've bought 4x4 transparent clear tiles, 16x16 transparent clear plates, various sizes of plates with studs top & bottom and 1x2 bricks with stud connections (antistuds) on top and bottom. All good quality, fairly cheap and often free postage. (Got those for specific projects since LEGO don't do those parts - if LEGO do make a part I prefer the real thing either new or off bricklink) Edited June 18, 2023 by stagecoachfan Quote
LegendaryArticuno Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Have you considered quality hobby paints or even a silver sharpie which is used in a lot of Gundam detailing would probably be even easier and faster than painting. Quote
anothergol Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Pretty easy to find a Bar 3L in flat silver on Ali. However, flat silver is kind of a special color, not sure it's gonna match Lego's 100% perfectly. Quote
