SuperChiefer84 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) Does anyone know if instructions exist to make this yellow technic bridge seen in the lego ad from the early 1990's? It looks so cool I'd like to build one. Edited November 11, 2017 by SuperChiefer84 Quote
M_slug357 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 @SuperChiefer84 I don't think anyone's ever done a rendition of that... Maybe you can be the first...? Quote
dr_spock Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Study and use the picture. Just like the good old days with the alt-build models on the LEGO boxes. Quote
Grrr Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I'm not recognising that ad - would you mind posting the whole page? Quote
freestorm Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 After spending hours on Google Image, I find this AD on Ebay. The release date is 1992. Large picture on my Brickshelf:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=573118 I've done a first version, my version doesn't match the original version, it's difficult to see details. I will to some improvement Quote
M_slug357 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 That's a nice rendition, but it doesn't seem to support the track in any way-- did I miss something? Quote

Carrera124 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Very good work! I am impressed because of the great number of macaroni bricks. During the 1980s and early 1999s, I had (still have) many sets, but these bricks were always really rare. Quote

This is also a connection point here. But your rendition looks great we are getting closer! Quote
freestorm Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Hello, I rebuilt the bridge and made 2 new version (v3 and v3.1) For me the version 3.1 is going to be the final version and I'm waiting parts to build. I look closer to the original image and measured ration between parts, but it's hard because the image is in poor quality. I'm happy with the result :-) Now the arms \ / are joined to the bridge, you are not viewing the technic pin, because it's behind the center arms | | It's difficult to make in MlCAD , because of the geometry of all pieces, so don't look closer to the image, they is some bugs. Here you can view the same bridge, but the arms / \ are with technic bricks Reveal hidden contents Some picture of the build version with some change, because of missing parts: - The bridge is red - The "legs" are shorter Reveal hidden contents Brickshelf url (not yet public) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=573187 Quote
Grrr Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 At 17:14 in this epic video you can see that same bridge used in a Lego World Show model. Unfortunately it's in the background, but nevertheless, it's a pretty clear view: Quote
Brickviller V2 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Years ago I saw that bridge in the add and dreamed of making it. By the time I had enough pieces I lost the add without a copy. Its really nice to see someone else really recreating it. Here's my attempt: Quote

zephyr1934 Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Instructions probably never existed for that bridge, but it is a beauty. Watching that video led to another that has the same sequence in higher resolution (at around 9:00 I believe). You can see that the build included the the 1x16 light supports in yellow. It is amazing the stop motion animation Lego was doing back in the day. Quote
Ropefish Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 that bridge would be wonderful to see at a show. Quote
JopieK Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Indeed! A lot of nostalgia in those videos too ;) Quote

Darkdragon Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 @Plegofan welcome to Eurobricks. I've moved your post to a more appropriate forum so hopefully someone that can help will see it. Quote
JopieK Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Well there was already a topic on it where you asked the same thing @Plegofan so why don't you try in Studio and then maybe if you ask help we can join in :) Quote
Metroliner1983 Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Hier ist meine Brücke. Ich habe diese möglichst original nachgebaut. Pr Thaum (edit and trad) : Here is my bridge ! I made it as closest as possible of the original version. Quote
