[EXCERPT FROM SIENAR EXPO, 5 BBY]

Our team at Sienar Fleet Systems are proud to present the newest addition to our renowned TIE line: The Tie Kraken. The Tie Kraken is a long range craft, equipped with a hyperdrive and additional heavy laser cannons. Additional solar collectors can be folded out from the craft to collect more energy during flights, and fold in during combat to decrease the silhouette of the ship. For the safety of the hyperd- uh, pilot, the Tie Kraken has a shielding system to absorb shots.

Oh man, I'm completely out of my league here. Anyway, I wanted to make this the Tie Raiju, which would look like an "R", but then it looked too much like my other entry, the Tie Jaculus. So I slapped another wing on and called it a day.

(Ok, it didn't happen exactly like that but... it's pretty close)

This ship mainly incorporates designs from the Tie Aggressor, Tie advanced V1, and the Fury class interceptor. Do you like the Tie Kraken more than the Tie Jaculus?

Here's some more shots:

Here are the wings in the closed position...

And in the opened position.

Here's the back view

Lastly, the top view...ish? The wings are closed, but even if they are open, the ship still resembles a "K" because of the rear winglets, which can be seen more closely on the back shot.

Looks good, it's such a creative choice to make the alphabet fighters TIEs. A little harder to see the K in this one than the J in the other, but it's not like the A-wing is an exact translation of the letter A, either, so I think it still works pretty well. I love those cannons on the underside.
