Hello everybody! :sweet:

Here is my eighth part of my "Wild West minifig show":

Soldiers on horseback

These are four typical WW soldiers: a lieutenant, a sergeant and two common soldiers.

Comments are welcome! :sweet:

I'm not sure I like the epaulettes. Definately, don't like the brown ones.

Beyond that, they're just the regular cavalry figures.

I think the white epaulette looks really good KD - clever use; but have to agree with Athos in regard to the brown one. I don't think the brown looks good with the blue uniform.

These are pretty much like the official WW cavalry (with the exception of the use of the young cowboy face).

From Frontier Patrol (Set 6706):

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Athos and The Brickster! :sweet:

About the epaulettes: I'm not very happy with the brown color, too. Do you think that blue or dark red epaulettes (like in the older Pirates themes) would be better than the brown ones?

I don't know blue, but if you use red, give them red gloves. I made a general with red epaulettes, red gloves, a officer torso and the hat with the crossed sable sign. It looks good, i reckon :sweet: .

I'm not sure the epaulettes and the cowboy hats look good together, but otherwise its a nice creation.

I like it though :classic:

Tom

Edit: What's the correct spelling of "epaulettes"? Firefox is telling me it's wrong...

On the one hand I don't agree with giving them red gloves. Because first of all I think it wouldn't like very nice (more like blood than like gloves  ), secondly because I'm not sure wether they had red gloves and thirdly because I haven't seen dark red hands to buy until now (since they were - after my knowledge - not included in a single set until now).

On the other hand I agree with you since I think that red epaulettes would look nice. Perhaps I'll try in some time to design the minifigs with them.

Sorry, I can't help you :cry_sad: , Tom_castlefan.

dict.leo.org says epaulette, too.

By the way: I know that it's a bit late but welcome to EB, Dwarvenlord and Tom_castlefan! :sweet: Nice to see so many new members interested in Western!

If you want to, there is a nice topic called Ideas for new sets (Wild West) where you can share your ideas and thoughts about possible Western sets with us and discuss about them. (And in the topic Ideas for new Classic Castle sets you can do the same - but with classic castle ideas/wishes/... )

Yellow might work well. It might pick up some of the accents in the uniforms.

Steve

That's a good idea  but i already used it for the leader of Fort Legoredo in this part of my "Wild West minifig show". And the point is that I wanted to have three different ranks of officers apart from the official Lego WW soldier characters :sceptic: .
