Attack of the bees or Blacktron reimaged, these are some nasty looking ships. Great work on them. The colors and accessories are wonderful. The mottled yellow and black from the modified slopes along the spine are perfect.

Thanks very much. Yeah, I wish now I'd made more of the Blacktron connection. Just didn't occur to me at the time. Perhaps an entire line of Blacktron insectoid Mocs is in order ;)

The two ‘prongs’ that protrude from either side of the front which are characteristic features of vipers.
 

It was just a standard viper shaped craft for much of the build and became more insectoid towards the end when I settled on the final idea. I kept viper in the name as I liked the way the whole thing sounded. Queen Bee Royal Drone doesn’t sound as good,

The Flickr user "Legalize It" has created some truly stunning insect-inspired spaceships. I particularly remember some incredible builds based on a fly and a mosquito. The whole insectoid range was amazing and I am excited to continue this theme and create a series of insect-themed sci-fi crafts. Keep an eye out here for more updates about drones as I fill in the gaps left by those sets.
