Just checked the "volume" of my (not yet published, only shown to a friend so far) 42121 triple alternate model - a mining excavator - and it sadly is too big for TC22 with 16 x 25 x 28 (W x H x L) Well, after folding the arm and shovel completely it looks a little different and measurments change to 16W x 18H x 34L = 9792, so in the limits then. But I'm also reusing submodels of 42121 to keep the scale it would have been most likely also not accepted anyhow. So "Not TC22" just for now, I hope. But as it's a "small" construction model, I think it still fits good at the moment with TC22 starting.

Functionality:

  • lower arm can be raised and lowered with knob (12z gear) at the rear
  • upper arm can be "raised" and "lowered" (if its movement can be called like that) with knob (12z gear) in the arm
  • shovel can be moved from the upper arm, either with the knob (12z gear) on the left side or the 12z gear attached to the small LA

The pictures are showing an older version and in my current version the upper arm can now be controlled from both the arm (now with a 20z gear) and from the rear of the superstructure (with a 12z gear). Unfortunately I haven't yet created pictures of the current version (which also features some additional details like tiltable headlights in the superstructure).

Apparently this needs 3 x 42121 set inventories when using the big shovel. But I tried to build it in a way that one can also build a second model out of the remaining parts, namely my two already existing 42121 alternate models:

But as I haven't yet digitized the mining excavator, I'm not yet sure if the dozer can really be built in addition, at least there are enough LAs left for it. The dump truck is definitely possible, though.

My aim with these alternate models is to provide construction equipment that matches the scale of the original 42121 A model. Therefore I am reusing some assemblies (though sometimes changed depending on parts usage), mainly the cabin and in this model and the dump truck also the base and tracks.

Here are a few pictures of the previous version of the mining excavator (and later also together with the dump truck):

Yeah, it's a lot of air basically. But hey, 3 shovels need more counterweight than 1 shovel.

Adding picture series about the two additional models one should be able to build together with the mining excavator shown together with the 42121 A model during an operation on a mine site:

Now that JM Mining Co. received its brand new groundSHOCK 10K SXT mining excavator its mining operations could be largely intensified:

The picture series shows the finalized model (with the following changes to the initial pictures:

  • upper arm movement can now be controlled from both the gear in the lower arm or the upper knob at the rear
  • additions for stability of the superstructure
  • additional moveable headlights

...) in action with the original 42121 (modified for better arm movement and less wiggling in the arm mount point in the superstructure) and my two existing alternate models.

It now looks like only a tracked loader is still missing...

@Maaboo35:

Thank you very much, glad you like it! The scenery also helps a little I think.

Actually, I never tried out the B model but just yesterday watched the video from @kbalage about it and find its features (e.g. working engine!) very cool.
