Something_Awesome Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) Hi everyone. So I have slowly been prepping to make a cool display for the Mos Eisley set. I think one of the most important steps is expanding the minifigures. I thought I would share in case other people had an idea to do the same. The community has come up with amazing and very accurate custom aliens that can be made using various minifig parts. And with the a new Quarren, Weequay, and Theelin introduced by LEGO recently, I think it's time to give some attention to human characters from Episode 4 that appeared during the Mos Eisley scene. The humans I am sharing with you today are either named characters that appeared in Episode 4, or non-named characters that appeared in the background. If you are not familiar with the named characters, you can google them for reference. Excuse the picture quality. I know some of the figures faces came out blurry. The pictures don't actually do any of these figures justice. NAMED CHARACTERS Senni Tonnika (I do not remember where the head is from. It's either a Poison Ivy figure or a Marvel figure. But the green make-up is a must) Swilla Corey (The legs are from the medieval blacksmith set. You can buy the legs for very cheap directly from LEGO's brick buying service). Rycar Ryjerd (It's nice being able to mix in characters with different height. It helps make the population of the display look more organic). Lak Sivrak (alien thrown in as a bonus. I believe he looks most accurate with tan sleeves coming out from under a poncho type garment) BACKGROUND CHARACTERS The following characters are "extras," or background characters. They all can be found in the short Mos Eisley scene found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDa-cVMv-DQ I will list the time stamps for each character that can be seen in the above video. The time stamps will appear above the picture. 0:41; 1:00; 1:24 - this figure uses Monkey Kid parts. Replaced the arms with white arms to simulate the torso as being vest-like or tunic-like. Close enough I think. 0:41; 0:56 (just for a moment in the background); 1:43 - Ideally, this figure would have a white belt. Close enough. 0:44; 1:02; 1:10; 1:32; 1:38 - A must have. This guy was used as an extra EVERYWHERE lol. Luke is going around town on a landspeeder and this guy seems to be able to beat Luke to every destination while on foot LOL. Probably more accurate to use a Dark Tan Hoth Hat as opposed to Tan. But I like the Tan. Cassian Andor has a torso piece that as just as acceptable as what I used. The torso I used is from the Jurassic Park/World theme. BONUS ALIEN CHARACTER Mos Eisley is a mostly tan looking place and can therefore look boring. Adding minifigures with color can add a lot to a LEGO Mos Eisley diorama. I also like Rodians. So while I prefer to use figures that represent actual persons that appeared in the movie, I could not resist to add a made-up Rodian. Rodian's tend to wear future-istic types of garments (not quite cyber punk though). So I went for that. Rodian - The torso is from the latest Marvel Minifigure Collection (is it series 2 or 3?) The legs are from a sequel trilogy Han Solo. Regular back legs also work great. He's a bounty hunter though, so I do like the extra leg detail. I am currently working on three more figures: a black man with short-ish hair walking around in the video I linked; Trinto Duaba, and a Mon Calamari bounty hunter. The bounty hunter is made up but inspired by the following fan art: https://pin.it/541cRMN Fun fact regarding Trinto Duaba, he is not actually a human. He looks human. He is actually an alien that I believe can shape shift. While he has never had a minifigure made of him, he was available as a playable character in one of the LEGO video games. He appeared in Episode 4 and made a cameo in one of the sequel trilogy movies. Also, If anyone is interested, I can share other figures. Some are just copies of what the community has come up with (so they are not my ideas). Others are tweaks of community made figures (like the Lak Sivrak). azzer86 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Nice effort! I've made some background cantina characters too (I just never got around to sharing them in the other custom figure thread ). For the Tonnika sisters I used poison ivy face (hela? From the third Thor movie would also work but the figure is expensive) and Catwoman face. I think I used long black hair from one of the HP figs, but this approach looks good too. I'll try and get around to posting mine at some point. Look forward to seeing more creations and I might just borrow a couple (like Lak and Rycar) Quote

I made a Flickr just to share. For Rycar, the face I used has another face on the other side of it that is probably better. I did not realize I used the wrong face until I took the picture. Also, the cloth piece I used for Lak was from Capes4minifigs. It's a Jyn Erso category item, and the color is Dark Brown I think. I think there is some material that interprets the top layer cloth piece as reddish. So perhaps you can try an off-red shade (Capes4Minifigs offers it). Underneath the cloth piece is a jedi robe with brown undershirt (one of the old ones from like 10 years ago). Also would not mind seeing your Tonnika sisters.
