JSN Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi guys, I've been a member of Eurobricks for about a year and a half but I have not really posted very often. I tend to just lurk and read the news/reviews and marvel at people's MOCs so apologies for not introducing myself sooner. I'm John, 25 from Scotland. I have been a fan of LEGO for as long as I remember with a brief dark age toward the end of school and the start of uni which unfortunately coincided with the Wild West theme which I love but mostly missed out on but thanks to Star Wars I was brought back to LEGO mid-way through uni. My favourite theme is town although unfortunately mine is still in my parents house which is several hours from me now so I don't get to do much with it these days but hopefully I will soon have somewhere of my own to move it to. There is a thread for it buried deep in the Towns and Train forum which I will revive once I get round to uploading the pics of my last trip home. I am also trying to turn my hand to minifig customising. I have some army troops I made years ago and dug out again thanks to the mighty BrickArms and I am trying to make some custom figs with torsos from the EB torso library and I will post the results if I can ever find any I am happy with! I look forward to being more active on EB from now on. John Quote
legotrainfan Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) Welcome to eurobricks, not-so-new-member! I'm also studying at university. I can only occupy myself with my LEGO collection on the weekend when I'm with my parents. Edited June 26, 2008 by legotrainfan Quote
Shadows Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 "Welcome" to EB! Ok, it's silly since you've been here longer than me, so we'll just move on now. Let's see. 25. Well, I was 25 once. Wild West missed during dark ages. Brought back by Star Wars. Town appreciation. Minifig customization. Add some Pirates to the mix and we should get along just fine. When you've retrieved your Town collection, would you consider reviewing some of the Classic Town era sets? We'd really appreciate it. Thanks for finally getting around to introducing yourself, it's a pleasure meeting you. Quote
JSN Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Thanks for the comments guys. To be honest the reason I don't post much here is the same as it is for a few forums I visit, laziness! I just tend to read things and move on but I am going to try and be more active from now on. ImperialShadows: I think I can add Pirates to my list of favourite LEGO as well. I had a few sets when I was younger but they are all broken up now. I loved the theme back then but just concentrated on my town more. I would love to see the them brought back though. One of the projects I would like to do when I have time/space/money to expand my town is build a Black Seas Barracuda and put it on my seafront as a museum to combine two great themes in one. If I have time on my next trip home I will see what I can do about reviews of some of my older sets. Over the years most have been broken up for other things or changed in some way while the figs are scattered all over town but I will review what I can for you guys. Quote
