My final order of bricks for the SB00601 AR-Project arrived today...

NOW TO BUILD MY EMPIRE!

Also, anyone have tips on how to go about constructing such a huge piece-count MOC like this?

I really enjoyed building it like all of Mirko's designs. Due to the nature of the design, the build is linear from bottom to top.

Usually when I build a MOC with large piece count, the pieces are sorted by type of piece and color. For instance if the MOC has a lot of LBG pieces, I will put all of the LBG plates in one group, all of the LBG tiles in another, etc. If there are only a few pieces for a single color, they will be grouped with other colors that have a small number of pieces. For the AR, all of the blue can be grouped together along with the white pieces. Once the pieces are sorted, I like to gather the pieces for a few steps at time, assemble them, pull pieces for the next few steps, assemble to the MOC is complete.

Awesome - thanks for the tip and beta!

I've had a few head-scratch moments with the build so far, I'm just finished with the lower legs portion, next is the actual cockpit and figure. Taking my time and enjoying the process.

There are so many clever fits in the design, very well thought out.

My ONLY critisism is that it'd have been helpful (but not necessary, mind you) if the placement on the base had stud numbers, rather than having to count the studs shown up in the instructions - I know it's extra work, but it'd make life that bit easier?
