Sheps Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Below are my Brickvention 2022 Castle Builds. Brickvention was held in early January in Melbourne: 20220109_162214 by Samuel Sheppard, on Flickr 20220109_162201 by Samuel Sheppard, on Flickr 20220109_162147 by Samuel Sheppard, on Flickr Some of the builds, such as the Fountain Castle, Aldingham Keep, Rosewood Hall, and the Pagoda, are my attempts to re-create what others have built. Full credit goes to Pete Strege, Brother Steven, & Ayrlego for these designs. Other builds such as the Mosque and the Tudor House draw inspiration from other Lego builders, while the Dark Grey Castle, Medieval House, and Middle Eastern Palace are completely original designs. Thanks for looking, Sheps. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Excellent collection of castles and historic buildings. You have a variety of finely detailed castles, keeps, and other buildings. Quote

I really like ancient Middle Eastern and Asian architecture and buildings, so there's some of them in there in addition to your more run of the mill European castles. 3 hours ago, jtooker said: Terrific builds! Ayrlego Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Wow! Impressive collection, one day I hope to be able to get down to Melbourne for Brickvention! Glad I could inspire you with the pagoda. I think my favourites are the middle eastern inspired buildings. I have a half finished mosque that I will one day get around to. The reddish brown dome is especially well done - that I may have to try and replicate - I have a Byzantine inspired build I am planning that it would be perfect for. Well done and welcome to Eurobricks! Quote

Well done and welcome to Eurobricks! Thanks Ayrlego! With your Lotii Pagoda you did more than just inspire me - you built something so awesome I needed to have one myself! The colours are slightly different, and the Dark Green roofs yours has are gorgeous. I went with Dark Brown on mine just because I had a lot of it on hand. I would love to see the Middle Eastern Building you come up with! I love seeing representation of Asian and Middle Eastern buildings in historic MOCs. The Reddish Brown dome was taken straight from Pete Strege's Mollusk Mosque, so that is also a good source to look at if you're thinking of building a dome similar. Sheps Quote
