Bbafett Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Curious how people display large Star Wars sets. Some of these sets can be large. I would like to know what shelving or displays they use. Quote
dr_spock Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Table top made with two shelving pieces on an old sewing machine stand. Quote
Chills Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I built a whole room around my SW LEGO collection. Check out my signature for the pics. Quote
Lobot Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Hi Bbafett, we already have a 'Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display' thread which includes lots of images! I'll merge your thread with it in a bit Quote
ZeldaTheSwordsman Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 My last contribution wasn't really a display, since I don't have the shelf space to do army displays like that. This sure is a display though: Quote

When it is warm enough to work out in the garage/woodshop: I plan on doing something similar to my den. Nicely done, Man ! Quote

BrickSev Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I just took several photos of my Lego Star Wars Separatist/Droid army. I'm not a huge fan of Separatists (I'm still working on a much larger Clone Army) so it's a modest one: 37 Droids (plus Grievous), 20 vehicles and 6 Minifigures. However it contains a couple of old sets dating back to the first years of Lego Star Wars history like the 7111 Droid Fighter and Episode I STAPs Anyway here the photos (about 35 of them ) My Lego Star Wars Separatist Droid Army Feel free to post your comments. I know it's not the biggest droid army but several of those sets have an "emotional value" since they were the first Star Wars sets I bought Quote

LMK if you want the dimensions for the oval cut-outs I used for the light panels. Figuring out what sizes worked best was pretty tricky. Be sure to post pics when you're done! I'm very impressed by your collection room. Just how big is your house? That room is huge! Much appreciated. My house is just over 3,000 sq ft. I ended up adding another 850 sq ft of finished space in the basement. The Death Star room is about 350 sq ft, if I remember correctly. Quote

Really shows how Lego star wars evolve in time. And you got light blue Super battle droid! I like these even if they are not the right color. Hope to see your clone army that you always talk about. (mine is about a 100 strong) Quote

(mine is about a 100 strong) Thank you very much When I put the sets one next other it was like a little "time capsule". It's especially true with the Vulture Droids from the 1999 one to the 2014 version. Things changed a lot in all those years Oh the Blu Super Battle Droids from the first Republic Gunship: how many memories I imagine to younger Lego fans this army may look a bit "ugly" but for AFOL like us looking at those old sets is like a sort of "time travel" Regarding my Clone Army: I have still about 70 Clones to build and most of the older vehicles are in several boxes so it may take few time before I finally find the time to display all together and take some photo but I'll do. I hope to see your army too. 100 Clones are a great number, indeed. Thank you again for your words Quote

I am waiting for the may the fourth sale. I bought almost no Lego this year and those I got won't build them until then. (Waiting for that 25% sale at TRU) I plan on adding a least a 100 clone/ stormtroopers. I will post pictures then. See you in may! Quote

Having rewatched the Battle of Geonosis several times recently, the ones in the movie actually seem to be closer to that color than to gunmetal gray (and on that note, the regular Battle Droids are definitely sand red and not dark orange ). On that note, have you noticed that Lego's apparent turnaround on stickers is causing trouble? Like the current Hailfire droid and its side eyes that are in the wrong place. Or the blank side dishes of the 2013 snail tank. Quote

It seems the Super Battle Droids' color slightly change depending on the source (Movies, Clone Wars Series, video games) but the regular Battle Droids are indeed sand red. Regarding the stickers: it's indeed a problematic issue. I know there are many reasons behind the choice of stickers over printed parts but stickers have also are limited durability. All my old sets have their stickers damaged by passing time. Anyway, the new Hailfire droid has no sticker: the disks are printed Quote

Or the blank side dishes of the 2013 snail tank. I'm saying that those sets would have been IMPROVED BY STICKERS. The Hailfire Droid's outer eyes aren't supposed to be level with the central eye, they're supposed to be on the sides of the upper part of the "face". Which, if Lego hadn't suddenly decided "Lol u no get stickers you get parts that r blank 4ever" for certain sets, would have been easy to do. Quote
LegoGunInstructions Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I have about 216 droids and only 70 clones. I am a fan of the droids. Quote
