Gooker1 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I made two trips that day. The first was in a Lexus IS-F and the second was in a Honda Odyssey. I ended up buying around 1,000 BPs that day. Unfortunately, I only took pics of the Lexus. By the time I was done with the Honda, I was just too tired to take more pics. I also nearly got pulled over while driving the Lexus. Oh man, you should have seen the cop's face when he saw what was in the car. He did this double-take and looked to see if he could pursue me, but there was traffic and I got the heck out of there. Holy cow...was this all at retail or during a clearance?! Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 So with some of my new sets arriving I took this picture. All "The Clone Wars" figs! Quote

Brickdoctor Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Nice variety, Masked. I prefer a wider variety over a larger army myself. Which CW-edition 'figs, if any, are you still missing? Quote

gratefulnat Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Lots of great collections and armies to be seen here - love looking at them. mutley777 - you really take the cake with your clone armies. I've debated for a long time whether to post in this thread or not, due only to the fact that I'm utterly useless with a computer (no deeplinking) and camera (even though it's not a good one anyway). Excuses, excuses, I know, but here is my collection as of 12.2010. The only things missing are the UCS shuttle because I hadn't built it yet, 7262 & chrome c-3po because I don't have them, otherwise all official TLC sets from 1999 till 12.2010, without any special collector/2 in 1/3 in 1 edition sets because I have the original sets anyway. What a set collection! You're almost out of room! I have embedded the picture of gratefulnat's collection below. Quote
mutley777 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Now that is a impressive wall gratefulnat! I don't think I have ever seen so many built sets crammed into so little space! Quote
gratefulnat Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 What a set collection! You're almost out of room! I have embedded the picture of gratefulnat's collection below. Thanks Stoutfiles Now that is a impressive wall gratefulnat! I don't think I have ever seen so many built sets crammed into so little space! There are a few positive things to be said for being single, and this is one of them . And when I have guests (this is the guest room) they are sometimes a little overwhelmed ... I made a promise when I got the UCS shuttle that I wouldn't build it untill I made some space, so after taking down, washing, and boxing all sets released between 1999-2009 (except UCS), things do look a little different now. Not because I'm cutting back, but rather to be able to start displaying other themes... But it certainly does help make the display a little less cramped Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 That is some collection! I could never have my sets stacked like that. Quote
Lobot Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Wow, that’s an amazing collection gratefulnat although I couldn’t have positioned the UCS Snowspeeder like that though, as it’s far too valuable!! I really want a UCS Star Destroyer and a Death Star II one day, they both look superb Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 MegaBloks! That's a very impressive display. So...many...sets... And I must commend you on your bravery, placing four UCS sets (Tantive IV, T-47, Y-wing, TIE Advanced) in perilous positions. There is one set you didn't mention that I can't see - do you have the Dark Side Developer Kit? Quote
Artanis I Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Impressive, gratefulnat, some of it looks a bit precarious... I hope there aren't any "whoops moments" by the guests! Poor General Grievous has no friends Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 StoutFiles is now my officially my hero. not just acquiring such an amazing collection but setting it up WOW. I'll stay in your guest room anytime Quote
StephenC Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 What a collection gratefulnat! My own collection is more modest. It is also all boxed at present as I simply have nowhere to display it. Instead I present my army of minifigs, if that is a fair description. I do have some PT / Clone Wars sets but can't justify buying every set so decided to restrict myself to OT sets (I might relent for very good PT sets). I know some of the Snowtroopers are missing their rifles, I will try and Bricklink them when I get pieces for my TIE Fighter MOC! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 StoutFiles is now my officially my hero. The collection belongs to gratefulnat, StoutFlies just deeplinked the pic for him. Not that StoutFlies' own display-in-progress is anything to laugh at. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 StoutFlies? [snip] Would you believe me if I said it was Big Cam's phone's fault? Actually, I think I've been writing it that way for a few months. Oops. Quote

I do have some PT / Clone Wars sets but can't justify buying every set so decided to restrict myself to OT sets (I might relent for very good PT sets). A good choice, but you'll soon find that even OT sets only gets really expensive! Would you believe me if I said it was Big Cam's phone's fault? Actually, I think I've been writing it that way for a few months. Oops. Haha, no problem, if so I didn't even notice. Quote

There is one set you didn't mention that I can't see - do you have the Dark Side Developer Kit? Yup, I do have that set but I find it so ugly it was hidden behind the UCS Y-wing Impressive, gratefulnat, some of it looks a bit precarious... I hope there aren't any "whoops moments" by the guests! Regarding perilous postions and such, over all the years I only ever had one accident with the UCS Blockaderunner taking a tumble (actually my son, who was six at the time, tried to lift it down and was a little surprised by the weight. The set flew apart on impact, but nothing was broken). No other accidents than that, the set up was actually much more stable than it looks. But it was a constant concern of mine - and I do feel much better now with only 1/4 the amount on display. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 That is still some amazing collection. You've got a nice little army there StephenC! Quote

Ritz Brick Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Some of you may remember my display in the basment, but I moved some things around and took pictures of the shelf upstairs and my display at the other house. Enjoy. Here's the shelf in it's entirety, it's mostly Star Wars but theres also some Megabloks motorcycles up top, a hockey rink and a basketball court in the middle. Very top shelf is for the Sith and Jedi, as well as a few random ships. (Sorry about the odd background) Next shelf is the Clone Outpost holding the whole army, a few of the bigger Republic vehicles and some horrible custom clones. never again...never again... Next shelf is a small Hoth collection and some more random ships. One step down is Endor, the other Star Wars figures that can't really go anywhere else and then some random sports stuff. one more shot. Next we have all Separatists. CIMG0874 by Ritz Brick, on Flickr Click the pic for more Seppys. Extended droid carrier. Down one more level is everything that won't fit somewhere else. Last shelf is the rest of the Republic. CIMG0877 by Ritz Brick, on Flickr Behind the Gunship is about 10 more unbuilt clone battle packs. Then we move downstairs where some of the larger sets are. CIMG0889 by Ritz Brick, on Flickr More pics of downstairs, follow the link above^ Then at the other house is just some other stuff that is in the process of being moved. The Bounty Hunter Gunship was supposed to be in here, but I purposely cut it out...waste of $65. So if anyone can think of a place for the Podracers, Slave 1 and Juggernaut on the shelf or basement, would be greatly appreciated. CIMG0866 by Ritz Brick, on Flickr Quote
