Mr No Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 (edited) According to Tommy Adreansen, they pitched Lego a lot of themes and he worked on a lot of them that will never see the light of day. This thread is to discuss these themes that could have been, which we might learn about in the upcoming years, hopefully. Here is an interesting one: Mike Rayhawk, long time artist and conceptual designer for LEGO, once worked on what started as a theme involving Johnny Thunder, which he described as "a pitch for them to go to the arctic and discover mammoths and sabertoothed tigers stuck in the ice, which became a city theme instead" - the 2018 City Arctic sets. https://mobile.twitter.com/mikerayhawk/status/1298023646657744897 Of course, some might become part of City or Ninjago. Another one from Mike: My favorite find was a ninjas vs underworld skeletons pitch I made in 2004. It was Ninjago, but reversed - the ninjas were the bad guys and the skeletons were the good guys. It'd be funny if that was the concept that developed into Ninjago years later and I never knew it. Edited January 11, 2022 by Mr No Quote

I would have loved that theme. I don't think there has ever been a good guy skeleton in Lego since El Fuego in Hidden Side. Quote

Ohh, I would love to see Johnny Thunder on Ninjago. If that happens I hope LEGO doesn't change him drastically like they did with Clutch Powers. Quote
