Before we start I want to tell you that I have nothing against the theme, I am happy that Lego found a line that could work for them. The way I see it, Ninjago is Lego's Power Rangers, it can go on for a very long time. I made this thread to discuss the future of the theme, the next 10 years it could have. Right now we know Ninjago is continuing in 2023 and it seems the core sets are already selling well with no show going on at the moment, so what's next? What's next for Ninjago? It seems the summer will give us some crystal or stone villains and 2023 is all guess work. How can Lego keep the theme fresh? Will it get a hard reboot like Transformers gets every few years? Will they release a new set of characters? What do you expect? Post your predictions for the theme. I do not think Ninjago will get cancelled, not easy anyway. If the sets were to not sell well then Lego would do anything to course correct that and save the theme. I have a few predictions for the theme, will post them soon. But one of them is that I think we will get another theatrical Ninjago movie soon, made by Universal Pictures this time.

I would like to see a reboot at some point in which the new ninja team is composed by the children of the current ninjas. To make more unique the composition of the new ninja team I imagine Cole's son to be like him but with white skin, gold hair and facial features like Vania, Jay's and Nya's twins like the new masters of water and lightning (a boy and a girl, respectively), Lloyd's daughter with white hair and such. I want this new ninja team live new adventures like travel to a monster realm, a dream realm, to the space and more fun things.

I definitely think Universal is going to try doing a Lego Ninjago movie at some point. (If and when they ever start working on their Lego Movies that is.) I think that’s when the ninja will end up getting redesigned again. Assuming they keep their current designs til summer 2023, they’ll have had these designs for as long as their original designs were around, which is crazy to think about.

I think we’re going to see past antagonists, like the Time Twins, Nadakhan, Aspheera and Garmadon return again at some point, perhaps for something like Day of the Departed.

Outside of that, the only other idea I can think of is maybe doing squid antagonists? I really liked the Shark Army from TLNM and it would be something different from snakes.

If Universal decides to do Lego movies that aren't IP based (like the rumored Fast and Furious movie). Like, I think it's important to remember that there is a fair chance Universal will just do Lego parodies of other movies (speaking of which, I could totally see them doing a Lego King Kong/Godzilla if Toho goes along with it movie).

In general, I kinda hope we keep these designs. They're distinct and I genuinely prefer them to the old ones (and pretty much have since they were revealed, except for maybe Jay's eyebrow scar being gone).

Idk, I assume Lego will milk Ninjago as long as possible. I'm not complaining, as I enjoy the show and love the sets, but I just kinda see that happening.

Maybe we'll get a spinoff (I know Lego's cautious about this because they don't want to overwhelm consumers). Probably something like the adventures of B-tier characters or a Spinjitzu Brothers show/series of shorts.

Of course, that is assuming Ninjago has much time left. As far as I'm aware, it hasn't been a top selling theme since 2018. The fact that it wasn't a top selling theme in its big anniversary year that had like three (I think, I can't remember if the D&D season was last year or not) seasons, a bunch of Legacy sets, and probably the best set of the year makes me think its days might be numbered.
