Lego Venetian Gondola

Hi everyone!

I decided to go back after my long pause in any posting and submitting photos, mainly about lidgted old pirates sets ;)

Recentyl I made my very first real MOC. I wanted to present something like LEGO model of Venetian Gondola. I presented my project on Lego Ideas page, but I make this topic to know what do you really think about it.

Unfortunatelly it's only a project from Studio, because some of bricks doesn't exist in colors I used.

I wanted to show you more photos, also real photos for model and details for comparison, but I have limitations here as I can see... so here is my project in Lego Ideas:

Please let me know what do you think about this? Construction of Gondola itself is not so obvious, so I will be happy to answer for your questions :)

Here are some more pics and real pics for comparison. Plese tak a look at real photos to understand some strange details, because it is very typical and unusual boat :)

I also made small update for interior details, I changed legs of the chair and stools to give them more antique look (I discovered that gondola stools have only two legs), I changed long black handrail below black pompons and I added some red material just behind the main seat.

How do you like this project, any suggestion what to improve?

It looks nice! It is instantly recognizable. Like the details like the front and the blue and white pole. Well done, unusual subject around here.

Looks very accurate, well done. I don´t know if you have the parts to built this, but some real pictures would be very nice. The front and rear angle of the gondola looks very good.

Thank you! Untortunatelly some of the criticatl bricks are not available in colors I used, like oar or curved 3x3 slope at the front. I was thinking about building it in real but I without painting some parts it won't be possible ;)

I have never abandoned this project and I hope it will reach to the next mile stone on LEGO Ideas page.

I uploaded 3 new photos with some little upgrades.

I changed handrails, chairs's legs and colors in some places with additional color chrome gold, looks better now.

I'm thinking about building it from real bricks and not leaving it as a program design only :)

Decorating of the interior was a pure pleasure but "shaping" the hull, as you said, was a nightmare especially the rear of the boat where hull's asymethric is the most visible.
