Another Brick In The Wall Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) During the recent Double VIP Points period, I placed two orders on the November 20 (UCS Millennium Falcon and Daily Bugle) and LEGO backdated the order date to November 19. I was on the phone for over an half hour trying to explain my case with a call center where English was not the native language, the supervisor refused come to the phone, they were not interested in viewing my credit card statements, and finally as "a special favour but for one time only" they would give me the Double VIP Points. What is happening to this company? Edited November 22, 2021 by Another Brick In The Wall Quote
Friscorays Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Sometimes when I order shortly after midnight my purchase date will show the previous day's date. I ordered $250 shortly after midnight on 11/20 and qualified for double VIP as well as Santa's yard and retro tin GWPs. Although my order date incorrectly shows as 11/19, I received the correct number of points for the double VIP promo; $25 worth. Did Lego actually short change you on VIP points or are you just worried that they might have because of date shown on the order? Quote
MAB Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Checkout should tell you how many VIP points you are getting before you place the order. Were they showing double VIP points there? I guess the issue is what do they use for their time/date. I know sometimes UK items don't appear at midnight (our time). Are they using Central European time, or Eastern, or Western, or something else to determine the date? I always assumed they used CET for all European countries , as many are served by the same warehouses whether they are inside the EU or the CET zone or not. Quote
Maple Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) That's not a scam, that's just LEGO being LEGO and not having a functioning website. They only make billions in profit so they can't spend some of it on IT. Edited November 22, 2021 by Maple Quote
timemail Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I have had similar once due to time differences. The Lego website updates at 0000 AEST which for me is 2330 ACST. I did an order between 2330 and 0000 which was double VIP, and picked up a set technically released the next day. In my case it had shown the double points when I did the order, but they had taken it off after. They added them back after an email with no issues. Quote
Another Brick In The Wall Posted November 23, 2021 Author Posted November 23, 2021 If there was no discrepancy with VIP points the customer service person should have informed me and the matter would have been laid to rest. They no longer have localised customer service, which is not acceptable for a company their size since they have many physical stores in this country. Quote

That’s because I live on the West Coast & the site is on East Coast time. It’s nice on that regard, I can order “early” but then it takes a week to get to me... Quote
