Doom Saber Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I was wondering if lego has ever considered some fractions an upgrade to an older one. I know that the dark forest sets are an expansion of the forestmen, but I am wondering if the knight kingdom 1 or the dragon masters sets are a continuation of the royal knights and the Black knights. When the dragon knights figures were new, I always thought that they were an evil fraction that fought the wolf pack and the black knights. However, seeing how they have the same emblem(abeit coloured differently,) I was curious if I was mistaken and that the dragon knights are an extension of the Black knights. I asked since I am thinkin of army buildin several different castle minifigs so I can have an army of more than one kingdom and want to know if combining some fractions together like the royal knights and the K.K 1 figures would be logical or far fetched. So far, I have the crownies, some undead, some black knights and a the core knight kingdom I figures. My brother has some dragon knights and all the wolf pack figures came out. Quote
Doom Saber Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 Fractions? Do you mean factions? Yeah, wiseguy Quote
KurttKrueger Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I've always considered them as seperate factions with their own goals and aims. For example, despite the similarities between their faction symbols, the Black Knights and Dragon Knights have always had a very different look and style. Quote
Adam Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Yeah, wiseguy Easy there! I was just asking a question. Like KurttKrueger, I find them to be seperate factions, even though some make appearances in other factions. Quote
Norro Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I've always considered the Dragon Knights separate from the Black Knights (based on personal opinion running counter to all evidence). But I have personally combined all the lion/royal factions into one united whole with numerous regiments. God Bless, Nathan Quote
SlyOwl Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 But I have personally combined all the lion/royal factions into one united whole with numerous regiments. Yup, I think that the KK2 Lions were an upgrade on King Leo's Knights (KK1), which were an upgrade on the Royal Kinghts, which came from the Crusaders. But I don't think that there's any specific links, such as between Space Police 1 and 2 or Blacktron 1 and 2. Quote

Fluyt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Well I think that the dragon masters were an upgrade/expansion of the black knights, but personally I don't consider kk1 and upgrade/expansion to the royal knights (or royal knights to crusaders/lion knights for that matter), even though lego might have intended it in that way. Dwarvenlord Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Well, the Lion head of the Royal Knights is the same one as that from KK1. The others are different. Quote
Tom_castlefan Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Personally, I consider black knights and dragon masters to be one and the same, and the same for the crusaders and Leo's knights. I would not have enough money to build separate armies for figures with the same or similar heraldry. Quote
