Sorry for the possibly misleading topic title.
Im talking about the minifig laptop, 62698. I just got one in a set. I was looking forward to getting this item. I had a desk set up in my alien planet build for it. And once i got it i realized there is no freaking way to connect it to anything. A minifig cant even hold it properly. I cant use clips on the side to hold it down.
Short of glueing something like a 1x2 flat underneath is there any way im not seeing to use this thing?

I don't like this piece for the same reason. You can't connect it anywhere while it's open, and it feels like some clone brand piece.

Yeah, it's one of those legacy pieces that would need an update. It's generally quite frustrating that LEGO doesn't regularly update those tech-centric items, be that actual elements or just the prints on tiles. It's even downright weird that they don't have a proper smartphone piece, given how much they push people to use their apps lately.

The laptops are annoying for sure.  I use sticky tac to hold it down without damaging anything.

Mylenium is incorrect, there are multiple prints for smartphones on 1x2 tiles and those work really well.

Plus the plain black one for when they are switched off!

Now that we have 2x3 tiles, we could get tablet prints. Not quite as fun as a laptop piece...annoying as it is.

Using tape to hold it down isint the WORST idea. I was seriously going to glue a 1x2 flat underneath it.
