And lo! Did Lord Uhtred spake unto his crew, ‘Bring out your shield of linden wood, and swords with poison ivy pattern and prepare to face the trolls’ he then did lean of the steering oar of the ship ‘haul down the sail he cried’ with a crash the ships met and oars did splinter, man and troll reached for his weapons and battle did commence. Etc

As was being discussed ‘someone’ should make a scene of the troll ship fighting the Viking long ship, so as I had the day off work I thought I’d throw something together it’s the first time I’ve tried to do something like this and photograph it. Sadly all my blue baseplates aren’t with me, as a student I tend to just have bits and bobs (and ships) with me in term time.

And finally a question who do you think is going to win?

Ps, Mod if you’d rather this merged into the sea battle topic please merge it right in.

The 'Brave' or slightly crazy Viking warriors always win their battles, even if their theme IS discontinued!

I like this combination of ships, mainly because I don't know many of the old Pirate ships.

It sorta fits... Vikings believed in giants and trolls so who's to say these aren't both Viking sets?

A pity I don't have ANYTHING from the viking theme! I like the battle scene. Maybe some slain warriors would've done a much more chaotic effect, though.

Hey, that's an idea! The vikings also believed in Dwarves!

Excellent! I like how they've done battle now. Can we see some other pics?

What other pics would you like to see it's still sitting on my desk so it's easy to do.
