Any way to use this window pane piece other than inside a window?

So I was trying to find a piece with the right textures for something that I'm making, and realised this window pane was perfect:

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to mount it in anything but the window frame it was designed for.

The best option I have is to remove the black lever and stick the window pane in the base of this part, which kind of works but visibly stresses the base piece - the window pane is wider than the gap in the base.

Does anyone have any other ides to mount this part?

Curious, why cant you just use the window frame? What are you trying to build and where are you trying to put this?

I'm trying to build part of a shopping mall, and was trying to see if I can add something to represent an anti-theft device that some shops have at the entrance, like this:

I thought this window frame seems to fit rather well, but in trying to figure out a way to mount it, I realised it doesn't seem to connect to any other pieces, which is odd for Lego. 

It's not a critical detail for my MOC, but this is more a matter of intellectual curiosity now. Most Lego pieces have multiple ways they can be used - skis as fan blades, treads as a way to mount curved bricks, etc - but this piece seems not to have any other connection point.

Alrighty. You inspired me. I put this together. It might not be perfect, and depending on if you have the panes with the nubs on the top/bottom it might not work. But it was an idea and it kinda worked. 

 

Also if its unclear what i used. But i guess any sort of those clips would work. The 1x1 clips. Ect.

Ah, that's interesting! I had some pieces with the thicker nubs (#60608, like yours) and some without (#3854) - I was using the one without, so clips didn't work. Thanks!

 

If anyone else can figure out a connection point for the piece without the thicker nub (part #3854), let me know too!
